I personally think the television. Now with news stations on the internet allowing users to watch video, and the iPod and other devices allowing people to download video, movies, and music videos. I think it would only be a matter of time before television literraly becomes history. I used to run home to watch the news, and my favorite show 24. Now I can watch it on the internet and download the episode to my computer and watch it when ever I get the chance. I rarely use the television anymore, except when I want to watch specials like 20/20 or dateline NBC. (and even that you can download on the internet as well) which brings me back to my question What technological item do you think is going to become obsolete in the not to far distant future?

A true story and its source was the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service in Adelaide.

A bloke and his family were on holidays in the United States and went to Mexico for a week. An avid cactus fan, the man bought one-metre high, rare and expensive cactus there. On arrival back home Australian Customs said it must be quarantined for 3 months.

He finally got his cactus home. Planted it in his backyard, and over time it grew to about 2 metres. One evening while watering his garden after a warm spring day, he gave the cactus a light spray. He was amazed to see the plant shiver all over,
He was puzzled so he rang the council who put him on to the state gardens people. and asked him ?"What the hell's going on?" he says. "Let me show you" says the cactus man. He went over to the cactus and picked away a crusty bit, the cactus was almost entirely hollow and filled with tiger striped bird-eating tarantula spiders, each about the size of two hand spans.

I am asking this because I read an article this AM that tells people that they don't have to buy the number of items that the store advertises, you know buy 10 for $10.00. It got me wondering if the stores are doing this because enough people think that this is how it works.

Someone told me that Germany people aren't caucasian (white) because they have black hair. Who agree with me this make no sense? I thought it was Slavic (or eastern european) people that have black hair and they're definitely white as they could get.

I thought race was more about skin color than hair color.

So I would like to see if others think hair color determine which race the person are.

Do you have any personal folkways that you would like to share?
I have a small research paper for my social & cultural class and i need to do some reasearch on different peoples examples of Folkways, and i thought i would be better and eaiser to ask everybody at once.

I have found that many gays say and hetero people in general preach tolerance. Yet if someone feels differently than they do then they jump down your throat. If you say you disagree with their lifestlye you are not allowed to hold that opinion.
It seems freedom of speech only applies to them.

You agree with your lifestlye. I don't.

Now I suppose I am going to get hateful responses saying I am not allowed to hold that opinion.

I wish people would stop pushing their views on (me). U get my point.
