Do not worry. Simply disconnect the broadband cable coming into your house from the Cable Modem (if any) totally.
You will not have any kind of connection as long as you do not connect the cable back to the to cable modem.
If you are connected via wireless right now, it ( thundering and lightning ) cannot get into your computer anyways.

certain i'm afraid of thunder and lightning, yet i'm pleased with them on my sound device yet not the authentic stay ones. i'm afraid of thunder in recent times its because I had a nightmare about ghost rider a pair years in the past. I hate it even as thunder storms initiate at useless night, i'm anxious they are going to knock out the skill and stuff.

YES! the darn thing damaged my computer, I had to get it repaired, it fried my modem.
Now I shut it off from the main everytime I hear thunder and lightning.

you're wireless is fine. Though if you want to be uber carefull you should unplug your phoneline. On vary rare occasions these can blow if the telephone lines are above ground and are struck by lightning.

oh ah I never thought about that and here's me tapping away at my computer watching the lightning out the window if I get electrocuted I'll let you no Good luck everybody who has a storm over there way

You don't have to switch your wireless connection off, just don't use it until after the storm.

If you have sattelite tv switch that of as well. just kidding! No need to worry about such things.
