If you do not do that then this question is not directed toward u.

I have found that many gays say and hetero people in general preach tolerance. Yet if someone feels differently than they do then they jump down your throat. If you say you disagree with their lifestlye you are not allowed to hold that opinion.
It seems freedom of speech only applies to them.

You are Gay. I'm a Christian.

You agree with your lifestlye. I don't.

Now I suppose I am going to get hateful responses saying I am not allowed to hold that opinion.

I wish people would stop pushing their views on (me). U get my point.

Oh and name calling and profanity: If you are over 18 try not to employ that behavior.

Let's see I am a bigot, a hate monger, I do not know love, I am not a true christian, I am delusional, I have alot problems, I am hateful.

All because I do not hold the same views as u?

So have we agreed on no tolerance or just selective tolerance which one is it?

You are attempting to make it sound as if being gay and being Christian are two opposing concepts.
I have news for you, they aren't.

http://www.whosoever.org/bible/index.html

I have tolerance for those who preach love, not self hatred. I have tolerance for those who preach acceptance, not self denial.
I have tolerance for those who preach healing and love, not hate and abuse.

I have no patience for ignorance or bigotry.

You've earned yourself another report. Have a happy.

I'm not gay, and I'm not a Christian, but from your question I get the impression that gays and Christians are, like, opposing forces?

Is this right? Or am I completely misunderstanding it all?

I thought Christians were supposed to be loving, caring, turn-the-other-cheek, do unto others etc etc type?

Didn't Christ preach to "love thy neighbour"? Man, if that dude was alive today, he'd be absolutely aghast and repulsed at the way his modern disciples carry on.

As for gays, I agree that the majority of them are really bad hypocrites. I have been called a homophobe, even though I have absolutely no phobia / fear of gays at all! I am just, in the traditional far-right sense of the word, intolerant, not scared.

"Why do some gays preach tolerance yet have no tolerance for those who feel differently?"

why do some christians preach tolerance and love and yet have no tolerance for those who feel differently (be it religion, lifestyle, sexuality, etc).

plus its a difference between saying "i dont believe in the same religion, or political party as you" and saying " i think the way that you were born and can't help is going to cause you to go to hell with the scum of the earth."

not saying it is worded like that, but thats the intention. I would be a little angry if i was gay too.

You are more than welcome to hold differeing beliefs. This country was founded on the separation of church and state, so that there is no one offical "right" belief.

Where you cross the line into abuse is when you defame LGBT people and their natural orientation and behaviors. No one has ever defamed you (that I have seen) for holding your beliefs, as long as you don't malign and discriminate against others. But you never seem to stop at just holding your beliefs, and you cross the line into abuse.

I wish you would stop pushing your views on me. You get my point. Also I wish you would shop calling me "ungodly" or anything else discriminatory. God made me just as I am, and God doesn't make junk!

The reason why someone who favors tolerance is against someone who does not tolerate others' ideas should be obvious. One person is trying to tell people to be tolerant while the other is pointing out how they, personally, are not. By definition, a person who promotes tolerance will hold a negative view of someone who is not tolerant. That is the point.

We should not be tolerant of people who are intolerant. It is a bit of a catch 22.

It isn't just gays that do this. It's everyone. People just don't understand the whole concept of what an opinion is. That's why people get so upset over the questions and answers on here. Let every one have their own point of view and hold true to yours. If they don't like it, they'll get over it.

Who said we have to agree on each other's life style? Somebody did say we are supposed to love one another the way we love ourselves.

Maybe if we could focus on that, we can let go of all the other divisive things that keep our attention off of the fact that we are all being made into modern-day slaves.

The short answer to your question is THEY ARE HUMAN!
I think the long answer would be that they are fighting at this moment for rights which they are not afforded by law and so what we hear about and what is uppermost in their minds is this fight so it seems that they are coming at us when in truth they are just in defense mode so they appear UMMM DEFENSIVE! But I think for the most part they understand that we have the right to our own opinion.
Does that answer your question?
