why did everyone associate that song with us skater, cause them to call me skater boi, even know i dont watch mtv or other mainstream **** like that.Was i the only one who saw the footage from the wto in seattle, i remember seeing on a college station, on a program called free speech tv i think,)skating and wall riding with a gas mask, thats the stuff i grew up associated skateboarding with and not that mainstream ****,did anyone else footage of seattle in 99 at the wto protet of people skating their?

Dude sk8r boi was realeased at a moment in time were skating, the x games and extreme sports in general were starting to become popular once more. The song indeed isn't super good and doesn't talk about skating just about a kid that skates, but the video shows them skating, having fun and being reckless. People instantly absorbed that idea and accepted sk8r boi as an icon for skating (musically talking). Btw they call you skater boy because you are a skater and and a boy?? Thought that was obvious...
