Since the death of my grandmother, my sisters and I have been struggling with this. My grandmother very wisely contracted with a local teaching hospital to donate her body. My sisters and I think this is a great idea and have done the appropriate paperwork to ensure our bodies are donated when we die. The medical college will creamate the remains and provide a simple burial (free)after a year. The problem is that our mother and father don't agree with this. They want to be burried. We want to respect thier wishes, but burials are expensive and they have no money.

I am looking for ideas to plan an inexpensive burial for my parents when they die. Does social security provide any money for a burial?
For those who would say that cost should not be a deciding factor in this, please send money. We will keep it in a trust account to pay for our parents burial.

there is this really annoying freshman who sits next to me in one of my classes (assigned seating). he keeps trying to talk to me and asks me repetitive and stupid questions that are none of his business. he pretends to poke me and then looks away like he didn't do anything. that's how idiotic this guy is. i remember dealing with people like this back in the day, but what can i do about it now that is mature and will work? thanks.

i.e.
Is it your religion?
Is it your conscience?
Is it the majority?
Is it the law?

Was it something you were born knowing, or is it something you have learned?

I'm interested to hear what people think and how they determine right from wrong, and if it is possible to find a common gound.

i am horrible at public speaking, or doing presentation in front of class or speaking to a group small as 4 or 5 people and i think it is because of lack of confidence in myself. i don't know why this is the case, i have a healthy self-esteem, and i do have confidence in other areas of my life, i have no problem in dating or talking to men. i'm usually ok with one on one, but in front of groups, its a different story. help!

some Americans say that the "U.S. army/military is fighting for the country's freedom"?

I wasn't aware someone was trying to take freedom away from Americans. So then, how does one arrive at that conclusion?

This is a serious question. I'll appreciate a serious answers.

Thank you.

Okay, it's hard to explain, but I really did myself in. I called a friend that moved to South Carolina, which is four states away. Anyways, while I was on the phone with her, I was cussing my *** off and then let slip about a lighter I found outside in the school parking lot. I had given it to my friend because she claimed to know a cool technique with lighters. She kept flipping it on and off and a spark hit the teacher's shawl. I just slapped at it and that was that, no trace of anything. Here's where the sh!t hits the fan, her mom was eavesdropping on the conversation! She calls me back and tells me I'm never allowed to call her daughter again, but she actually thought I was moking in class! That's worse than anything I've ever imagined.

Have you noticed when a news show sets down with a corporate executive or politician and asks specific questions, he or she will beat around the bush, double-talk, or just flat out not answer the question?

For example, Dateline NBC interviewed McDonald's COO if their change in their menu was caused by the recent lawsuits. He said no to that, but when Stone Philips asked him if their french fries were the cause of so many obese people, he then said that he eats (can't resist) their fries and that their food is fine to eat if people just increased their excercising activies (new advertising campaign so says Dateline NBC) and eat in moderation -it's not good to eat too much of anything.

Why are they so worried to answer a question directly? They act like they are on trial, and they don't want to incriminate themselves. What is your view on all of this?

Gee, I actually care about the environment, so I must be an idiot. ********* who use the term "tree-hugger" as a derogatory term need to be tied to one of the trees they say can't be hugged, and then hung from it.

You might as well put a "I shop at Walmart every day" ribbon or at least try to invent something more clever.
Please give me your ideas for new and interesting magnetic ribbons.
