Gee, I actually care about the environment, so I must be an idiot. ********* who use the term "tree-hugger" as a derogatory term need to be tied to one of the trees they say can't be hugged, and then hung from it.

I don't see anything wrong with treehugging.
In addition to hugging trees, I support the environment through groups such as Earth First!, Sierra Club, Circle of Life, Wilderness Society, Defenders of Wildlife, EarthShare, WWF, etc.
And I've hugged Julia "Butterfly" Hill along with many trees ;)

I love a healthy environment and I love trees; but frankly, there are a lot of cactus where I live and they do not like to be hugged very much.
