Okay, it's hard to explain, but I really did myself in. I called a friend that moved to South Carolina, which is four states away. Anyways, while I was on the phone with her, I was cussing my *** off and then let slip about a lighter I found outside in the school parking lot. I had given it to my friend because she claimed to know a cool technique with lighters. She kept flipping it on and off and a spark hit the teacher's shawl. I just slapped at it and that was that, no trace of anything. Here's where the sh!t hits the fan, her mom was eavesdropping on the conversation! She calls me back and tells me I'm never allowed to call her daughter again, but she actually thought I was moking in class! That's worse than anything I've ever imagined.

What should I do? To explain if there's no way I can reach her now?

Basically, she feels I'm a bad influence on her child. So I guess it'll be hard to change that.

Forget about, it isnt a big deal. You werent smoking (although the "found lighter/lighter trick" sounds a little supsicious), but nonetheless, dont sweat it, it isnt worth it. Anyhow, there are many of ways you can stay in contact with your friend through the internet (which will also save you on long distance).

Write a letter of explanation and apology to the mom. As a mom of a 15 yo daughter, I have not listened in on her phone conversations. Now I have read letters that she has left in the living room (and told her) For internet access I have ALL her passwords and accounts. She gets questioned often about what she is doing on their. If she every shuts down a IM/PM or web page, immediately she has to bring it back up and hubby or I or both read it. If she wont, she is grounded from the computer and we both go into the account WHILE she is there and pull up the archives.

Call your friend's mother and explain. Regardless, sounds like it should blow over before too long - your friend's mother just overreacted.

Make new friends- she is four states away and you would have lost touch anyway over time.

Just wonder how bad you were cursing. If you were cussing your *** off, I am sure she was more upset with your speech than anything else.

Your friend's mom said you're not allowed to call your friend, eh? So why doesn't your friend just call you? Sounds pretty simple.
