I dont know if these exist in USA but in the UK these places are to house ex offenders released into the community from prison.
Maybe they are a good idea, as long as the house is not next door to yours? Have you any experience of living near to one of these places, good or bad??

State of Liberty? Mt Rushmore? Gold Gate Bridge? Hollywood sign?...etc. What do you think?

I think many of us would enjoy knowing that our dinners wouldn't be spoiled by squalling infants, hyperactive two-year-olds who can't seem to keep their food on their plates or their asses in their seats, or strident shouts of, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, LOOK, Mommy, look at me, Mommy!"

Btw, it's only in the last 15-20 years that folks decided their kids were accessories to be dragged with them to all & every place they went; for decades before that, kids were left at home with baby sitters, and the world was better for it.

A "No Chiildren" area is a nice compromise, don't you think? Isn't it time for a little ...just a LITTLE... peace in public?

I just watched Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, I loved the movie, and it really made me think. So I got to wondering... would people really have a memory of a person (maybe from a bad relationship), a time period, or event erased from their mind? I thought I would at first, but the wise teach us to hold on to all the thoughts and memories of mistakes and circumstances we have, even though they might not have been pleasant. That way, we can use these past experiences in the future, to prevent making further mistakes or getting into things we shouldnt... so what do you think? Would you erase some horrible memory or person from your past to end the pain it might have caused you? And please explain why or why not. THANKS!

Here in UK a vicar has just been thrown out of the church because he gave a little girl a little kiss on the forehead when she got a question right in sunday school..... her mum got upset, complained, the rest is history....
But then 'the church' dithers when some of it's employees are found to have seriously (sexually) assaulted young children....
(A good case for more women in the church?, or do you think women vicars priests etc would be just as perverse?)

It seems to me that, on the one hand, the fact that reality (which we are a part of) exists is a striking thing, to say the least. I don't feel strongly about a 'creator' but I am certainly struck by the fact that this (reality) is going on. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to concern other people too much. I'm going by what I observe people saying- but I don' t talk about it much either (because no one else is). Is this a catch-22- people don't talk about it because no else is, or am I kind of weird? (I realize religion fills some of this role, explains the unexplainable.)
