Not as much as white people, and that's a natural fact.

If they're immature cowards void of merit as decent people--insecure and left feeling losses of control, then yes: the race card comes quite convenient.
And let's get something into the social picture now: Minorities simply DO NOT EXIST. There are NO racially disadvantaged people. True census figures will show there are JUST AS many races regarded as "minority" as there are white people today....and the "minority" numbers fill up maternity wards daily.
If large numbers of "minoritites" are "economically challenged/disadvantged", it's because THEY CHOOSE TO LIVE SO. It's soooo easy for them to feel trapped in poverty because they're a particular race because they held THEMSELVES BACK.
Minorities don't much try the race card with me because I know the truths they really don't want put out....till now. Ooops, I've let the cat out of the bag now. I'm not impressed with race card people and they know it; such behavior gets nothing more than a laugh from me. In their frustration, they leave off fast to find a weaker target.
The ACLU and other social watchdog groups don't like me much either ( I really don't care...yawnnnn); 18 years have passed--and I'm still waiting for that civil court date..........
Show "minorities" the race card is so overdone and doesn't impress you; they'll quickly leave you alone.

Some do and some don't. The ones that never seem to get anywhere in life, even after billions of dollars and a never ending series of government programs, are the ones who will start screaming about being mistreated. The ones who work hard, educate themselves and their children, and invest for the future just eventually blend into the society.

Oh Sean, I really liked where you were going with that first sentence ("People in general use what cards they have in their lives to get ahead.") but then you had to go and blow it. Yes, people due tend to use what cards they have in their hand and why not. And please, its not just done to get welfare. Look at your statistics. The majority of people in the US who are receiving food stamps, AFDC, and welfare are not black - their white. The fact of the matter is that equal opportunity sounds good especially coming out of the mouths of politicians who want to get elected but the reality is that it isn't put into practice near as much as it should be so people who just want the right to the same education, training, jobs, etc., as is afforded others will occasionally use whatever at their disposal to accomplish their goal and you can't blame them. You want it to stop, then lift the lip service that often surrounds equal opportunity and really make it a priority in every area of our lives.

People in general use what cards they have in their lives to get ahead. Some people like easier ways out than other people, some don't want hand outs. It dosen't just have to be minorities, but people on welfare that are choosing to be on it instead of getting off of it. Some people can't help it, some can... those who can and choose this route... personally make me sick.

My question to you would be do you ever use anything to sway things in your direction... If you say no ... YOU LIE.... We all use what we have to get what we want .... The next job, a bonus at work .... Difference is we like to measure everybody with our measuring stick and it can't be done... If you always take the telephone pole out of our own eyes first ... We won't feel the need to get the twig out of anyone else's......Angel
