It's a good strong case for marriage in the priesthood.

Women can be just as perverse as men. Here in the USA we're having all kinds of problems with women teachers having sex with 13 and 14 year-old students. Gender has nothing to do with it.
The church should have investigated it more, if that's all it was. But they may have done that in response to all the complaints (like yours) about when they did nothing. They took a lot of heat (and rightly so) for not doing anything about the sexual abuse that was taking place earlier, so maybe now they'd just rather be more careful. And if it's one or the other, I can't say I blame them. If you have to choose between kicking out an innocent vicar or letting a kid be molested, that's a no-brainer. Far better to err on the side of caution.

There isn't anyway to know if women would offend children it is possible. I too would question why he would kiss the forehead in class may have been completely innocent maybe not. The thing about some pedophiles is that they believe they are simply showing loving affection to a child while offending. Most churches are not willing to take any chances anymore. The statistics on children being molested by church people are staggering. Trust me God will find a place for this man to serve if he needs to be serving. When God closes one door he usually opens another.... Angel

No, I think your right that things are just flat getting out of control everywhere. If a man tells a woman other than his wife that she looks nice today, he's accused of being somekind of lush. If a woman runs up and gives him a hug that's perfectly fine but he better stand there and do his best not to appear to be enjoying it or returning it or he'll be accused of some kind of sexually deviant behavior. I am proud to be a professional woman and I realize that if it hadn't been for a lot of women in the past fighting for the right to equal opportunities I might not be here but now things have gotten so twisted around that poor men don't know how to react to or around women anymore. I don't know what the answer is but agree that something has got to give.

Who knows, anything's possible today. So many troubled people walking about in this society. How is one to know who is alright or isn't. Someone's gender has nothing to do with what you're speaking of but it is true that the church predominately has men ruling, so therefore it seems as though they are the only ones committing these crimes. Actually if someone were to look into it, they might discover that it isn't just men.....even children are attacking other children sexually these days. Too bad......

Man this sure is getting crazy. I remember when I was little, the priest used to either shake our hands or kiss us on the forehead. It was never considered bad. But this day and age, all it takes is for one person to think it is sexual and then bam the crap starts again. Its terrible.
I think that they should allow more women to be in charge positions of any church. My church has women pastors, counselors, ect, ect, and even women run Missionettes, plus a lady is in charge of one of the Royal Rangers classes. It shows that at least my church is probably one of many allow women to be in leadership roles.

The Roman Catholic Church is finally starting to head in the right direction with regard to sexual predators in priests' clothing.
Why would women in leadership change the overall moral state of church leadership? All people have their moments of screwing up, but there are plenty of good men in ministry too. Let's not overlook them in trying to solve these problems.

Priests/clergy of any religion are not to be trusted.
And, personally, vicar, priest, nun, random person on the street, I don't want any one outside our family kissing my daughter anywhere. And, actually, I would much prefer for the male family members to keep their lips off her.

I think religion is part of life, and what happens in life will inevitably happen in the church. Murder and assault have already happened, and will continue to. Sorry for being so pesimistic. I'm not in a good mood.

I'm starting to lose faith in organized religion. Corruption and abuse has been a part of it since its creation and todays revelations only strengthen the fact that even those who are supposed to uphold themselves to the highest levels of "faith" and strength, are weak and have little or no convictions.
