It happens to me all the time. I like to think that it's my Guardian Angel telling me to slow down, or to wait for a second, because if I were to walk of the house at the time I was looking for my (keys, purse, wallet, ATM card) something bad would have happened. That's all I CAN do to calm myself down at that time; I've been late to too many things, where there was a crash on the freeway right before me. Without a doubt my greatest example (I was doing a huge project for a big big company in New York, so I lived there 3 weeks of every month) is I couldn't find my keys; I knew exactly where I'd put them, I was late even for me for work and I'm running around my apartment and I hear an explosion so loud it tore my eardrum (I didn't know it at the time) so, as any sane woman would do, I ran to my window and looked across the street at the World Trade Center bldg 1 and as they say about the rest being history... If I had my keys when I started looking for them, I would have been I don't know where, but certainly across the street. I don't want to sound melodramatic, but I would go the the WTC every morning and get an iced tea from a kiosk outside the bldg. So Iwould have been anywhere. So I now look at "misplacements" and know I was spared. Now if I could just figure out why!

No, never. Now, what was your question, I forgot. Yes, of course. My favorite thing is to put something away so I will find it easily later, and of course, it isn't where I thought is was when I look for it. Now, what was your question?
Us older people call it a Senior Moment, and pray it stays just in moments, and doesn't extend into bigger units of time. I try to blame it on others, but if someone else is in this house besides me, I need to call the police. I forget, tell me your question again?
We humans are creatures of habit, are brains tell us where things should be, not necessarily where they actually are.are. LOL
Look at it this way. Does a squirrel remember where he buried every acorn? If he does, where do oak trees come from? [please fellow answerers, do not lecture me on how acorns drop on the ground, and sprout without being buried, it is a joke].
So if you are wondering, no you are not weird, or insane, or have a house infested with playful spirits, you are human and therefore , forgetful. I wish you would tell me what your question was!
Good luck in your quest for missing items.

When this happens which it does to everybody, we need to sit down and think of something else. I have attributed this to Faries and Familiars, creatures who were there long before I showed up. When I take my mind off looking for what I can't find, I generally see it in a totally different place than what I expected, SO I thank them and God for having them around. Do not get angry or it will be days before you find it.
