Assuming the financial gain was feasible, I would want to help found a group home for adults with Asperger Syndrome in my area.
I just might have to rely on my own generosity someday.

I would spend some money here, if I was staying. I would have to spread it around. I would give some to the police department and made sure they hired more officers with it, and trained the ones they have in politeness. I would give to the food bank, and help some elementary teachers out with some school supplies. I might do something for a local nursing home or hospital that would help the patients on an individual level, not buying expensive machines..I might donate some trees to a park, or to the charities that help individual people like the bucket brigade.I would find something charitable to do with my time, not just throw money at it. Like actually buy the food for the pantry, or talk to teachers and find exactly what they need, and go buy it. Or work in a charity's office. Or go pick up garbage on the streets, or in a park. I'm sure I could find lot's that needs done.

I would re-do my (50 year old) house to make it "green build" (energy efficient and enviromentally friendly). This would include replacing all appliance with the lowest energy usage available currently. Replace the 50 year old windows with Low E Insulated Vinyl windows, add insulated siding. Replace the grass/dirt with a SynLawn like used at Wynn's Casino in Vegas. (No need for watering, mowing, while giving dogs a place to run without dirt or mud).

The local paper would get before bills and pictures and after bills and pictures. So they would tell more people.

The local department has a "beautification project" winners have green lawns and lots of beautiful flowers. We have been in a drought situation for 2 years and for 2 days have had 104 temps. And explain that "beautification" should not be using a precious resource.

Then I would start a trust that would help people get their houses retrofitted to "green build"

This is something that has really been on my mind a lot lately. However I would also encourage people to "adopt" children (like through World Vision) in foreign countries to help them get the schooling and clothes they need where they are.

It would depend, of course, on how much I won. If it was millions, certainly much of it would go to charity. But we support animal shelters, food pantries, a child in W.VA, gosh, a lot of charities. And yes, some toys for myself. My family is doing pretty well so they don't need any. Maybe some of my friends could use some help. I've never played the lottery so thinking what I would do with it is kind of senseless. It's just gambling supported by the government. And the people who support it the most are people who can't really afford to.

If I won the lottery the best thing I could do to improve my community would be to take my 5 kids and 3 dogs and move away..(live around 55+ seniors)

I want to build a huge community with a place for the homeless and a place for abused children that would give them nice places to live and a clinic and jobs within the community to help keep it running and help them get back on their feet. There would be a great play area for the children and tutors for after school for those that needed extra help. It's been a dream of mine..but I'm afraid I'll have to win a mighty big lottery.

at our museum here there is a cost to get in I would donate enough that one day a week it would be free for all, I'd give enough that this went on for at least a year....I'd go to our senior center and ask if there was anything they needed such as a new van or other equipment....I would give to certain charities if they had a plan for how the money would be used and I was told and involved....somehow I would love to help children from low income families, kids that have never seen a horse,or have never even seen the sights in our city, what I would do I'm not sure but I would think of some way to make a difference ....I better get all six numbers lol!

I would try to get more people to recycle, add on to the animal shelter, give away a few thousand compact flourescent lightbulbs, start a program to teach people how to reduce their carbon emissions, plant lots of trees, buy unused buildings and tear some down to plant trees and use others for education centers for people to learn about things like parenting skills and job skills...oh,there are so many things I would do to help the people and the environment. But I don't gamble,so there goes that.

Not much left after the feds and local gov't get paid taxes.....

I would rather help a foreign country than locals given that our gov't spends all our tax money on stupid stuff (illegal wars, $400 hammers, Halliburton) when they should do a better job taking care of our own.

I'd like to organize volunteers for helping in Africa and other places that don't have the resources we have here to help ourselves.

Donate to the Emergency Protective Shelter for kids and the local homeless shelter. And fill up all the food banks. And probably open up a drug and alcohol treatment center for people without insurance.
