Simple. Women are materialistic because they can be, due to the fact that men are constantly after sex. The male sex drive compels men to do whatever is necessary to get a woman in bed, including buying her expensive stuff. Women, being smart, know how to use this to their advantage.
As for why men are after sex, I think that's just biology.

Such an arrangment work perfectly for both sexes. They all get what they want like two children trading their different toys, just imagine if a woman isn't materialistic but chases after sex like a man, no man would be able to keep with her with all the multiple orgasm.

Because all people want today is to serve themselves
They dont want to except God because they dont want to change their lifestyle
They want to be appreciated and notice and they want pleasure
They like making there selves fell good mentaly and phisically
They want all this stuff and more and dont give a crap for all the people that have nothing, that are suffering in a third world country

Our girls equate money with security and think it would make them happy. Guys, well, it's just how their brains are hooked up. They only think about girls, food and sports most of the time...

it is a stereotype we as a society have conducted for ourselves, although each case is relative . but i think a good portion of male/female stereotype is true.
