They bemoaned their Condition ALONE to themselves, and to their "sisters." Although the popular MYTH has been, to blame them for their maliciousness, in luring men and their ships on to their rocky shores, causing their death, through the sound of their inimitably BEAUTIFUL voices..Yet, mine is another version : As I have agreed with Franz Kafka, the great writer. The Sirens had no ill intention. Their beautiful singing was not a deliberate Lure, instead it was NOT singing at all! It was a Lament, they uttered, a wail, a mournful sound, heard as song, which told of the sorrow they felt for their Condition of Uniqueness, Exception, and Isolation. For they were DOOMED CREATURES All! : half fish, half women; Their state, gave them NO Place in the World! Their Lament, BEAUTIFUL, as it was - magnetized the men to them and their own death, but was not done from malice. But from the lament of sorrow which was So Beautifully Heard.

Please tell me if it is possible to warp to a specific place like maybe your mothers house, and whether or not you have the power in that form to talk to a person in this world or have the power to move things without being seen. I once saw a film based on a true story about this woman who would leave her body every night and find herself in this beuatiful house. One day her and her husband were out searching for a new homw when she spotted the house. She knocked on the door and an old lady answered and said she was the ghost that had been haunting her home and sold the house to her at a greatly redused price.

I have, this might sound crazy but I saw him when I was about 8 years old. It happened when I was in my bed at 12:00pm. In one of the corners in my room, it was very dark. As time went by a shadow formed out of the darkness. The shadow looked like someone wearing a hood with a scythe. However, when I looked up I didn't see a solid figure. When it was getting closer and closer I was going to yell but I was too scared, then thankfully my dad came in my room and said...
"Jess do you know where Tessa went?" ... I was saved!
The shadow or Grim Reaper vanished!
I hope this never happens to me agian!

I was born on the 21st of June, which means the break between Gemini and Cancer.

And everytime I read horoscopes, I never really know which one to read, but I don't believe in them or anything, I just find the things quite interesting.

okai i've got it takes place in an old hotel, but i'm not sure if i should make it so that it used to be a palace hundreds of years ago or not. anywayz some a girl gets killed, i need help with that i don't know how she dies... a suggestion a frend gave me was that her fiancé killed her, and when she haunts the hotel she's wearing either a wedding dresso r a night gown. and the haunting has something to do with a locket that she was wearing the night she was murdered. and is still at the same place it happened (but no one knows yet)

My wife and I were talking about the new Tim Burton film, Sweeney Todd, that's coming out soon and we got into a discussion about whether or not it was based on fact. She had always believed it was based on a true story and was surprised that I was more skeptical. I'm a college literature professor and have encountered many different early versions of the 'myth' throughout my career. It is different from many other horror films in that the legend does date back to the 1800's. As far as I know, Sweeney Todd was originally a minor character in a short story published by Thomas Prest. Because that was a fictional piece, I've always held the notion that Sweeney Todd himself was a fictional character. I know that that story led to multiple spin offs and stories that revolved around his character (such as the upcoming movie) and I do believe these definitely do not represent an accurate depiction of Sweeney Todd. If he did exist, I believe that he was nothing like the character depicted in the stories and plays. I won't rule out his existence entirely because I do know the original author, Thomas Prest, got many of his character ideas by hunting through newspapers, but I speculate that it is much more likely that Sweeney Todd (most likely with a different name) came from a clipping. He may have taken a murder that occurred in a barber shop and seen an opportunity to embellish the character and make a story. I highly doubt the references to the meat pies are even remotely factual. My wife still disagrees and insists that more elements of the story are true and from what I've encountered in my courses, most of my students feel the same way. I'm open to any input. Does anyone have any opinions on the matter?

For any of you who think i need a shrink or what to be something i already am...please detour yourself to another question....the details are this...i asked a question before about psychic vampires...{me being one of them...} and for the most part people that answered them are too stupid for thier own good....a psychic vampire is someone who feeds on psychic energy.....i do this subconciously....so i dont know how to do it at will... i'm just like anyone else other than the whole taking energy from others part. which i want to learn how to do so i dont need to do it constantly....and with a little more control than with unconciously doing it.
