Mythology & Folklore - November 2007

We got an e mail in at work about being wary of a gang who drive around with their head lights off and the driver who flashes them is killed by the people in the other car as some sort of initatition into a gang.
I said it was a hoax as I had read it on some urban myth web site ages ago, they said prove it and now i cant find the site or rememeber it! If anyone knows which one it might be I'd appreciate it, I think it had stuff on there about the guy who faked the 9/11 photos as well!?! x

Its not like ghosts where you need almost defy science to believe in an afterlife. With bigfoot its like finding a link in evolutionary histroy and yet people refuse to believe that these animals exist and I dont know why. Bigfoots are seen hundreds of times a year, infact theres an article on yahoo news now concerning footprints found on mt everist. Why dont people think these exist?

I'm taking about a somone. Known as babeybat or Nardia on here, and to those whom know her this is the time to let her hear your roar. Nardia is dying for reasons, I cannot say. Someone on here does. ok so we accidently spilled some hand sanatizer on the ground and i filcked a cigrett on the floor and c,t,j,k,f,c, all the people that were around there nams are corey tonia justin kyle ? and chantel then 666 apered and the fire look as if hands and figurs poped out of the flame people say this house is hunted the wind chimes will go off randomly the dolls will start swinging doors will twist and open and the coutch starts rocking back and forth what is wrong if you know any thing about this kinda behaver can you give me some tips

Or is that just Buffy-lore?
In more detail, what I mean is, if (I mean this hypothetically of course :P) someone said they were made a vampire, could they also say "I was sired"?
Only I've never heard anything like that before.. Except in Buffy. And, story-writing, it would be nice to say something short like that instead of... 'He-made-me-a-vampire'.

Raindeer actually eat the oats we leave for them!
Santa always devoure the cookies we leave for him, but not all because he has to eat more l8r and is saving room for more!
Santa drinks the milk and my parents hate milk!
I have heard bells of his at night on Christmas Eve!
He has an E-mail address!
He has a mailing address at Canada!
He can be mailed for you by companys for a fee!
He or helpers (Not sure whih) work at the mall!
I have seen his boot prints outside of the house!
The chimney "door" has been left open before!

So...was it mainly the choice of subjects that tipped the balance for Athena, or was her envy of Arachne's skill the greater prompt for her actions? This is a matter of opinion, I'm not suggesting links to texts.
And when Arachne was metamorphosed into a spider, did they supposedly already exist? Or is this a kind of spider creation myth?

I was upstairs in my room and my mum was downstairs talking on webcam testing it.
She said she could hear noises so I came down and sure enough there was strange noises coming from my end of the webcam call.
It was as if someone was heavy breathing and whispering but we couldnt make it out at all.
Everytime we do a call again it is there.

We don't know if its a ghost or its just static but it sure is freaky.

Does anyone have any ideas how to record a webcam conversation or just the sound to see if we can hear anything?
