There are a lot of sea gods and you probably have heard the names of some of these - Poisedon (Greek), Neptune (Latin), Triton, Ceto (as in Cetacean, the name given to whales), Oceanus, Proteus, Scylla,
Nereus (all both in Latin and Greek mythology), Aphrodite (born in the sea), Ophion, Aegeus (all from Greek), and Aegir (Norse). That's 12.

Here are a few extra: Caphiera, Delphin, Echidna, Galene, Lamia, Leucothea, Palaemon, Thalassa

I don't really know any merfolk or gods that haven't been mentioned. But the Sirens may work- they were the ones that lured sailors into the sea and to their deaths. Sometimes they're described as birds, sometimes more as mermaids...

Here are some of their names, though:
Aglaopheme
Thelxiepeia
Peisinoë
Parthenope
Ligeia
Leucosia
