I think you're talking about Greek or Norse gods.

The Greek gods pretty much covered all aspects of existence.

The powers of the Norse Gods weren't as far reaching and a lot of the darker forces were controlled by creatures that weren't considered gods.

I think that the Greeks were more advanced in their weaponry than the Norse; so I'd go with the Greeks.

Norse. The Greek Gods spend so much time fighting with eachother, they seldom get anything right. The Norse Gods are, shall we say, more focused.
