Seriously. There are immense amount of bad answers here. Worst thing is that a lot become best answers. I don't understand why anyone would answer a question without giving fair warning when they have almost no knowledge of the langauge to traduce or worse yet when they use free translation or babelfish.

I'm Natirah-American. Both of my parents speak Spanish and I lived in a bi-lingual house until my parents seperated. Since then, I've been living in an English household. I grew up in Charleston so so I have a mixutre of a Gullah accent and a Spanish sounding accent. A gullah accent sorta sounds like Rihanna's speaking voice. Since currently I'm pale and lighter haired since it's winter, people think I'm a "poser" or whatever and constantly ask "Why is the white girl trying to be black?" or something like that. Anyway, I'm not Spanish and I don't want to keep having people being so rude about my accent. Not many people know about a Gullah accent so it's hard to explain to them. How can I get rid of my accent?

so a name pronounced lari tod(given names) that is IIII I (sealed together) described as IVI(sealed together) or the scars look like a DI(sealed together) is the God who became the Word. meaning the word was whatever word you used to describe God like the nations words for God listed below:

DIO,DIEU,DEUS,DIOS,SHANGDI,GOTT,BOG,bor,Allah,God.

so in a way i must be the God who although the word existed before God, became the WORD.

now tell me are those 10 languages wrong and God didn't become the word, with the word being the word they used to describe God?

While I'm reading a text from Reader's Digest,
I got a question.
In this text, can you tell me what does this sentence 'had just become probably the first naval officer to qualify for...' mean?

By the time Dazel-Job walked into Commander Ian Fleming's Admiralty office one day in 1944 looking for a new assignment, he had already seen service as a seaman, commando, submariner and spy, and had just become probably the first naval officer to qualify for army parachute wings.

Does that sentence mean 'He was probably the first naval officer who was qualified for army parachute wings'?
If this translation is correct, why does 'to infinitive' appeared in that sentence?

theres like 2 ways its really anoying. i say it like the english 'J'.

like ella. i pronounce it 'Ay-ja'
and some people say it 'Ay-yah'

it sounds retarded the second way, cuz i learned it the first way. and my spanish teacher (last year) was born in Puerto Rico (and left when she was 8) so she would know how to say it right.

i know 'tortilla' has the eniglish 'Y' way. but some things sound better with the english 'J'.

What do these words mean?

damit, dazu, davor, danach, dabei, darueber, dahin, da(whatever).

I see Deutsche benutzen these words all the time and very loosely. I looked in a wortbuch but the uebersetzen don't really help. Can someone tell me how and when you use these words? Thanks.
