You should probably ignore these other answers.

Though *technically* still correct, for "Merry Christmas!" I would say:
"Frohe Weihnachten!"or "Fröhliche Weihnachten!"

Here are some other phrases you might like to use:

"Frohes Weihnachtsfest!"
- [A] joyous Christmas celebration!

"Ein gesegnetes Weihnachtsfest!"
- A blessed / joyous Christmas!

"Prosit Neujahr!" or "Einen guten Rutsch!"
- Happy New Year!

Together:
"Ich wünsche Dir und Deiner Familie ein frohes Weihnachtsfest und alles Gute zum neuen Jahr!"

- I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and best of luck to the New Year!
