I've been hearing as of late that the Chinese economy will be taking off soon, becoming a very dominant force in the future. With this happening do you think that it will still be relevant to learn the Japanese language? I really like their culture. Do you think that it is possible to learn both languages fluently?

In the past, "affect" was used, or maybe "influence" instead of impact.

Why do some use such a violent word? Is it from the news media...who make everything superlative or overly sensational?

I can only find one document on any search engine in french that has the word. It seems to use it in a medical context but I can't read it. I don't speak french. Here is a snippet of the article that uses the word:

Les autres ont décidé de ne pas rendre le corps aux autorités et ils l’ont gardé dans une des voitures dans laquelle deux ont dormis aussi.
