The beautiful language of the King James version of the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer are echoed everywhere in English literature. In a culture where the Christian faith was the backbone of society and thought, religion was a natural part of life and referred to in countless works of literature. Because the modern trend is to frown on bringing Christianity into the classroom, younger generations will lose the beauty of the English language. Already they cannot understand Shakespeare and Chaucer and so much of the richness of the culture which was enjoyed by previous generations is passing them by.
