Has anyone else noticed the vast number of poorly constructed questions and answers floating around out there? It seems people are typing as fast as they can without regards to grammer or punctuation. Half the time the questions here don't even make sense. What gives?

To me, it sounds French but I have only heard it briefly through word of mouth. It could mean charisma, or something to do with passion or personality, but I could be wrong. When pronounced in English, it sounds like "jwar du vee".

Does anyone know the correct spelling in its native language, and what it means?

This cross was found in the Holy Lands. It has the words etched on the front of the cross. (I am fairly certain that the last letter in the word Rirov is indeed a v and not a u but anything is possible). I have used every Latin to English translator I can find and come up with nothing at all. It is a mystery. If you can help I would be greatful. The cross is approximately 800 years old. I am trying to learn as much as possible about it. Thank you!

I have Pimsleur.
I have Rosetta Stone.
I have countless online tools.
But I feel lost in a deluge of language learning stuff and I dont even know where to begin.
I'm looking for a systematic approach. One that is very structured to ensure the best results.
Perhaps I should buy a French textbook and the media stuff that comes with it (like the CDs, videos, and workheets). That way I'll learn each aspect of the language like someone taking a class.
Any ideas/suggestions?
