Mandarin Chinese is spoken by the most people, followed by Spanish; sorry to disappoint you xenophobes on both sides of the Atlantic pond but English comes in only at third.

for i think the most spoken language in the world today is of course English its the internatonal language, were ever you go even whe your in japan, china, singapore communication is not the problem couse everyone could talk in an english language,..am i right?...

there are close to 3 billion chinese in china today and the majority speaks mandarine as the universal language amongst them
(there's cantonese, hokkian, hakka etc...)

more and more people are beginning to pick up mandarine as the language is more in demand as international trade is growing
