As in the "indie dreamboat" Sufjan Stevens. I'm pretty sure it's an Arabic name. Soof-i-yawn or Suf-yen?

ok since i need atleast two years of a language in highschool to graduate or enter a college i was wondering what should i take, well I've always wanted to learn Italian, but unfortunatelly they dont teach it on my highschool, if they had it would take it without thinking on it twice. i am left with german french and spanish, i dont want to learn german first because its to dificult and i dont think ill need it too much nee ways, so i am left eith french and spanish... ok as many I am fluent in spanish so it would be an easy A and a borring class! but in the other hand I would love to be trilingual so i am really considering in taking french but it would be kinda hard and i wouln't lightenen my homerwork schechuel, or my backpack, or my locker. so spanish easy A borring class or French, trilingual but hard class..

In Spanish class we are learning the imperfect subjunctive (If I was able to.../Si lo pudiera...; If you had seen it.../Si lo hubieras visto...etc). I had been aware of this tense before, but in my family (Cuban-American) I have always heard another form being spoken. Instead of "Si lo pudiera..", "Si lo pudiese.." is said. I asked my teacher about this and she said that "-ese-" imp. subj. was an archaic literary form never used in speech, yet here are all my relatives using it in day-to-day talk. Does anyone else know about spoken usage of this supposedly "archaic" tense, and why it would have been retained in Cuba's dialect? (preferably other Cuban-Americans?)

I've looked in my dictionary and it says to say "jarga" but that
doesn't make sence b/c when I told my cousin ( i was trying to explain the word slang to her) she doesn't know what i'm talking about. If there is any one that can help me describe this to her it would be great! Also can you add some spanish slang words to go with it (preferably South American/ but NE kind is ok).

This is more of a census and I'm not meaning to sound arrogant, What I'm wondering is what culture and the identity behind this culture means to a non-welsh speaker in Wales. Is it praised as an individual aspect of Wales or simply seen as something not to bother with since there is a language barrier?

By Culture I'm refering to Art forms (such as poems, music and performing arts), Sports, scholarly persuits etc. As a welshman I can appreciate these because it's part of who I am, but is it also an appreciation that requires a language?

Well I think my neighbors are dealing drugs and my landlord speaks only spanish so i want to write him a letter and I dont speak spanish can someone please translate this for me please?

I think my neighbors are dealing drugs. they have people at the apartment all hours of the day and night. I dont think anybody works at the house and the friends outside the apartment smoke marijuana and I can smell it. I think they are selling harder stuff too, like meth. My neighbors drive a brown ford explorer and stay at apt 10.
The main person at the house who is dealing is Juan and I think you should look into this matter because I do live here with small children and im kind of worried...

thank you, Lisa
