i often hear the phrase "touch wood" and then the person who said it has to then touch wood. I know it is to prevent something bad happening but just wondered why we say and do that and where it originated from

I am looking for the symbol for "healing" or "one who has been healed." Something close to that. I've been trying to find it on the internet, but every site I've checked doesn't have it. They all have "health," but that's not quite what I'm looking for. Could you recommend a site? I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be kanji. Any kind of Japanese or Chinese would be ok, just tell me what language you are talking about. Thank you in advance.

Pope, President, Professor, Partner, etc.

Power.

First letter P.

Is there Coincidence or is there more behind it?

What about languages in which "power" doesn't start with a P, say with an "N". Do names for powerful professions change accordingly?

To attempt clarification, in Latin for example, nouns decline in Nominative, Genative, Dative, Accusative, and Ablative (as well as a Vocative) case. They also decline according to gender and number. However, I draw little parallel into English, which I find weird. In my experiences in Sanskrit, Latin, and French, I wondered if English, perhaps in an earlier form, ever had anything similiar.

I am learning Czech and think pronounciation would be a lot easier if i could hear the language more often. Are there any sites that offer like free music / any audio at all downloads? Thanks! Also, any Czech sites would be of help, there are not that many out there. haha. Thanks!
