i always bear in mind that speaking english does make you ahead over other cultures and people who can't speak the laguage that good, or not even speak a single word of it...i am a filipina, and i'm proud to be one...i'm proud that i know how to speak both english and filipino language...and even speak different filipino dialects such as iloco...you should learn how to used the english language, especially now that we filipinos are always trying to look out for a job outside the country, that makes us more appealing to others, cos we know how to speak english, much more learn how to speak different languages....you should love your own dialect but be sure that you are adaptable to changes too...you should learn to interact with other people and culture using the english language...

I speak tagalog and english and I still feel filipino
you can't be less than what you are now
it's the heritage that's important, not the language
