This was in Australia and the reason is that they said in America has slang for ho as a prostitute. I think this is insane and has nothing to do with the scummy slang. The Santa said they were trying to stop the Christmas spirit. Thsis has to stop people! Call the Australians

I do most everything, Christmas cards, shopping, baking, cooking, decorating inside the house, plans for Christmas Day/dinner, tree trimming, etc.
My husband does the outdoor lights/decorations and puts the tree in the stand and the lights on.

How about your house?

Just curious if it's usually a woman in your house who does most everything.

what has santa to do with the holiday of christmas? is it significant that christ wasn't born in december, the holiday was borrowed from pagan sun-worshipers, and that the letters in santa also spell satan (as in: the devil)?

I don't know what to get my boyfriend's parents. I know his mom well, but don't know his dad at all. Him and his dad are barely on speaking terms. I originally thought about just baking a pie and sending a card, but his mother called and said she got us both presents. What should I do?

A lot of young children seem to stop believe in Santa Clause at such a young age every holiday season. What do you think causes a child to stop in believing in Santa Clause? Do you think it's because a child asks for something special one year and they don't get what they ask for?

Could it be that people in general don't have as much Christmas spirit, as in the past?

I've been getting help in Biology class and my tutor is a really awsome guy! Because of him, I got an A and I'm exempt from taking my Biology final. What would be a great, but inexpensive, gift I could get the guy? He's about 25-30 years old if that helps things.

My young niece is in fourth grade. She is asking for a cell phone but her mother doesnt think she can handle that responsibility. She is right in the transition age where she's wanting older kid things but also still in the toy stage. Her mother & I are struggling to find presents for her that she will like but are also appropriate & easy enough for her to control.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They are all women. What is a nice gift for them, not specifically Christmas, but a holiday gift.
I have 4 main teachers so not too expensive, and maybe getting one for my Spanish and Health teacher too. I'm not sure about those.
They are all youngish[20-30] except for one[45ish] if that helps.

Ok, the company I work for is having a Christmas party in 2 days. Its is semi-formal, at a country club, plated dinner...very nice.

Well, my boss magically sprung a surprise on me, I have to find gifts for EVERYONE! There's only about 25 employees, and it is going to be determined on senority grouping. So for example, anyone who has been here more than 3 years will get a $200 value gift...more than 1 year, $100...etc.

So, can anyone give me an idea of general gifts in the ranges of $20-$280, $80-$140, and $140-$200. The youngest person is about 20 and the oldest is about $50, male and female.

Please help me!!! I only have 2 days...eeek

In Elementary school it seemed like we gave everybody a little gift for X-mas. There were only 1 or 2 teachers she had. How about High School teachers? My daughter has a teacher for every subject, plus clubs. Do we give them all a gift? Or is it not common anymore in high school to give everybody a gift. What do you do, how do you handle gift giving to teachers????

If you are giving a gift card...give cash instead or a cheque. something that the person would have an option of using elsewhere.
When it comes to Holiday gifts and people literally exchanging gift cards these days it seems ludicrious ..."jimmy gives Jane a $30 gift card to the GAP and Jane amazingly enough gave a $35 gift gard to Jimmy for the gas station! YOOHOO isnt that the true spirit of giving....

why dont they each buy themselves a present and get together for eggnog around the fireplace to talk about it. It would save two trips to the mall soley spent to buy the darn gift cards.
Buy a real present..make a present or go home!!!

I'm going to an annual Christmas party and I'm looking for a good and/or funny gift to bring for the White Elephant Gift Exchange game. We are spending no more than $30. Just an example, last year my bf brought a 70's Penthouse Magazine with a bottle a Crown. I want to come up with something very creative that people would either really want or will make everyone roll on the floor with laughter.
