This was in Australia and the reason is that they said in America has slang for ho as a prostitute. I think this is insane and has nothing to do with the scummy slang. The Santa said they were trying to stop the Christmas spirit. Thsis has to stop people! Call the Australians

It is refreshing to find people of like mind. I thought that the entire world had gone crazy and would have thought this was a lark except it was on a national news program.

These are some classic answers.

Oh No, Santa lost a Ho.

I remember when a Ho was a hoe.

Political correctness has definitely gone to far. And Haley, the Australian Santas have been instructed to say HaHaHa. Now the little kids will think Santa is laughing at them.

Actually the word Ho has nothing to do with being a prostitute, but the more harsh whore, which isn't a prostitute either.

So would it be more politically correct if santa said Merry Christmas little boy, or little girl? Oh wait, I forgot, we can't say Merry Christmas any more because God forbid if we offend anybody over wishing anybody good tidings during the celebration of Jesus. That would be aweful.

But then again I don't subscribe to political correctness (probably brought on by the Democrats).

It has gone way beyond "too far" For every word regardless of country of origin, there is always another word that means something totally different! Who cares if some people refer to those people as hos? Seriously, Ho Ho Ho is something Santa's all over the world has been saying for decades. Why change it up now?

YES YES YES YES

They have gone way too far, it's so ridiculous! I am a woman, and would NEVER take offense! I tried to find the history for this word online, but couldn't find anything relevant. But I'm willing to bet that "ho ho ho" was around long before "ho" the slang word. So really, shouldn't Santa be taking offense that people have stolen his words to use in referring to prostitutes?

Santa has been saying HO-HO-HO longer than improper use of the English word whore. Lets give it a rest and give Santa a break.
Unfortunately CHRISTmas has become a celebration of commerce and has lost its true meaning. The world seems to be full of Scrooge's. Everybody wants, but no one GIVES. Greed and Ignorance runs rampant in this day and age. CHRISTmas is about giving, caring and celebrating the true Messiah and prophet/son of GOD.
It seems the politics of some churches have ruined the true meaning of being a Christian. GOD help us all and allow us to find the light in Jesus Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! or MERRY X-MAS!!
X=Xpistos(Greek)=Christ(English)

Are they serious!? Geeze!

Do they realize that "westward ho" was a common statement in pioneer times?

What about in the Bible? Zechariah 2:6
"Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD."

If the Bible can say "ho ho," I think it's OK for Santa!

Yes it has truly gone to far. Also people in dept stores are being told to say "Happy Holidays" and NOT Merry Christmas. What the heck is going on in this world? I will say Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and GOD bless you for the rest of my life. If I'm fired then I didn't need to work for the scum bags anyway. Sorry, but this really pisses me off!!!

Merry Christmas to you all!!! and HO HO HO

added: If ho ho ho offends you then you are in the wrong profession.

First of all prostitutes are not Ho's, they are whores. Ho is what you do in the garden and the way Santa laughs.
Merry Christmas

This is the riduculous, people just can't seem to find other things to keep them busy. Apparently Australia has lots of prostitute that they were offended and made a big deal out of nothing.
Poor Santa, I want to know now is how am i going to get my Christmas presents?
