what has santa to do with the holiday of christmas? is it significant that christ wasn't born in december, the holiday was borrowed from pagan sun-worshipers, and that the letters in santa also spell satan (as in: the devil)?

but true christians wouldn't want to 'share' a holiday with pagans or non-christians...what if your parents celebrated your birthday on the same day as someone you had nothing in common with and didn't like?...how would that make you feel? and why can't it just be celebrated on the right day, or a non-shared day?...where's the good answers?

Here is a couple of links to the history of Christmas and Santa. NO santa does not have ANYTHING to do with satan.
That is just a stupid old wives tale that people made up to get people wondering about Christmas.

True Christmas was first celebrated on a pagan holiday, but think about it...........we do that ALL THE TIME....celebrate this or that on a holiday that is saved for something else.

Santa in English would be Saint (and satan is santanas in Spanish), so that doesn't fly. Yes, we all know Jesus was NOT born in December -- many customs (religious and not) are "borrowed" from somewhere else in order to make it more palatable in the culture, and Christmas trees are no different. Santa is a pleasant children's pasttime (now), and generally does no harm to anyone, although some religions forbid any celebration.

umm, santa was a saint who gave gifts to poor children, so that thing about satan is stupid. and most christian holidays are put at the same time as pagan holidays so that christians could have something to celebrate while others were celebrating their stuff. same with halloween

santa means saint. As in saint nick, a guy way back when who would go in peoples houses and give their presents on christmas. tradition stuck for who knows why
