This is our first christmas in our new home and Its already the 23rd and we havent put our tree up yet. My boyfriends been working alot and its just us living here, no one ever really comes over or anything and We'll be going over to his parents house for christmas so he says why bother pulling it all out and putting it up for a week then taking it down again. I personally think we should still put it up. but i know i'll be doing it all by myself, do you think i should still put it up?

My bf is not a sentimental person so he wouldnt be the one to keep a picture around....nor would he like a scrapbook.

Hes an IT major in college who loves rap, video games, movies, the Patriots, the Celtics, the Red Sox.

I also dont work so I cannot spend more then 40 dollars. He doesnt need more CDs, or DVDs because he has a TON of those.

We are both 19 too....

My husband and I have been married for over eight years. We have three small children. We bought lots of stuff for the kids but we haven't bought anything for each other. Upon discussion, we determined that there really isn't anything that either of us wants. We don't want to waste any time or money getting things we don't want or need anyway, so we've decided to not get each other anything at all. We are a Christian family that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. So the commercial side of Christmas is not really a major part of our agenda anyway. What do you think of this?

I have a 4 month old & just realized that I need to make or buy something special from her to all of her grandparents. I'm not talking about anything elaborate or expensive. Something simple, meaningful, & could possibly be homemade. I'm very crafty so I can do just about anything I put my mind to, with her help. I know she's so young but she can be a part in it & it's mainly for the thought. I need some ideas! This is so last minute, so remember it can't be anything like embroidery or anything that would require delivery. And, no ornament ideas because some of them don't put up Christmas trees. Any ideas? Handprints? Anything???

P.S. No rude comments by the way! If you don't have any REAL advice, save it!

My parents are divorced and I rarely see my dad. It's so awkward buying him something for Christmas. I have no money. I asked him what he wanted today and he said nothing and told me to save my money. I feel bad, because he is probabl getting me something nice. What do I do?? Can I just give him nothing? He knows I love him and appreciate him, I just have no idea!

I'd like to get some good REAL stories. Was there violence in the past? Why are you planning on risking seeing them again. Are they just annoying, deceitful, smelly, drunk, inappropriate, nasty house, or flat out dangerous?

Where did this tradition start?

2007-12-23 08:23:12 · 4 answers · asked by Anonymous

This past June my family moved into a smaller house once my brother was arrested. I'm 17 now and my favorite time of year is Christmas, but this year my family isn't really talking to each other a lot, I eat dinners alone, and there are very little present to give each other. Worst of all, my mother yelled at me for asking to get a Christmas tree. I've never not had one. What can I do? I feel so lost.

I am aware that many people of different faiths or those who don't like tradition won't be. But I guess what i am asking those people is what do you choose instead?
