I have a 4 month old & just realized that I need to make or buy something special from her to all of her grandparents. I'm not talking about anything elaborate or expensive. Something simple, meaningful, & could possibly be homemade. I'm very crafty so I can do just about anything I put my mind to, with her help. I know she's so young but she can be a part in it & it's mainly for the thought. I need some ideas! This is so last minute, so remember it can't be anything like embroidery or anything that would require delivery. And, no ornament ideas because some of them don't put up Christmas trees. Any ideas? Handprints? Anything???

P.S. No rude comments by the way! If you don't have any REAL advice, save it!

They sell kits for hand prints but you could probably do more projects cheaply with a few aluminum pie tins and some dental plaster (safer and more durable than plaster of paris) Or for an even lighter weight wall hanging type thing you could try crayola model magic to make her hand prints perhaps encorperating it into a picture frame.

Yes! Handprints and footprints are a wonderful idea! You can do the plaster thing (wet plaster in a shallow paper plate or bowl, with the wee one's handprint or footprint made in the plaster before it sets) or purchase stepping-stone kits or even fist-model kits.

The stepping-stone kits are available in crafts supplies stores and in garden shops. The baby's hand- or footprint is preserved on a garden stepping stone. In colder areas, you may not be able to find those this time of year.

The fist-mold kit is available at crafts supplies stores. It comes with a tubular mold and goo that you pour into this. Stick the baby's hand into this goo (she'll usually make a fist when you do) and then use the resulting mold to cast plaster.

You can also use fabric paint and make t-shirts or sweatshirts with the baby's handprints on them. Fabric paint washes off baby skin as easily as it washes off ours, so you're not hurting her at all. She may not understand why you're using her hands, so make it a game and it'll be fun for her.

Framed handprints sounds like a marvelous idea. Grab some frames at a dollar-type store. There should be some seasonable photo holders on sale you might use too.

Have you ever considered giving them handmade portraits or paintings made with the help of their most treasured photos? You simply select a suitable photo and then send it to http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create a wonderful portrait out of it – on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas. Ok, you might say, it is already late for this, but it is worth trying in future! It doesn’t cost much.
The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.com

Do her handprints and do a design in glue and put glitter around it. If you have the money you could frame it.

Cristimas is a Time
To look to our neigbors, near and far, and collaborate with them to make love flourish.
It is a time to forgive, rebuild relationships, and to embrace each other with the compassion and mercy of the Heart of God.
It is also a time to bring to mind our childhood and the years we have lived.

A nice frame with her picture in it. Better yet would be a framed picture of her with her grandparents.
