Would you rather want snow longer than the summer sun in the year or the sun more then the white fluff? and why?

Ok, So we were trying to figure out what to get my MIL for Christmas, and my hubby said that we needed to get her a 30pk of Coor's Light. Seriously, I told him that there was no way we could do this & that his mom would be insalted. Problem is, everything we give her for the home, she complains about because she says it for her house, not for HER. Any clothes we buy her she throws out or gives away. I've gotten her bath/spa set...collecting dust after years..Jewelry...yeah right, its never good enough for her. A gift card is out of the question because we are only spending $25 on each family member (35 in all, brothers/sisters/neices&nephews/parents)
She LOVES to party & drink..Not an occassion that goes by where she is not plastered. Would this be okay to give her, or would it be offensive. I'm out of ideas on what to get her. Suggestions & opinions please.

It was a short cartoon, with several young children living in some remote snowy region, with Santa present. They were told not to go too far or the yeti/abominable snowman would get them, somehow they ended up being chased through the forest and mountains by him though. All I remember is the abominable snowman had no eyes, just a really long fringe, and that the townspeople were waving lit fiery torches at him. And at the end there was something about a sign being nailed up with a yeti on it, it's all a bit unclear in my memory now.

I remember that at one point the little children went ice skating. And I'm pretty sure one of them was a cliche chubby kid, one was a little girl, one was the cocky one who wanted to find the yeti... it's hard to explain in detail, though I can picture it in my head! I can't remember how long the animation was or if it was on a video by itself or in a compilation, I'd just love to get hold of it and watch it again!

Any help greatly appreciated :)

I've been watching alot of the videos on Youtube where people hook their lights to music (like Trans Siberian Orchestra). And I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do that.

I drew my fiance Mike's younger brother in our gift name-drawing this year. He's 19, recently married and a new dad as of this August. He and his wife are really struggling to get by financially. The gifts have a $40 limit. We really want to get them something that will help them out. They could probably use the $40 more than anything else, but we don't want to insult them.

Any ideas on something creative, really useful yet not insulting (like straight cash)? We can go over the $40 a little as long as they don't know. I was thinking maybe, like, frozen meats? Like Omaha steaks, only something less expensive where they can get more. That's all I've come up with so far. Please help! We really want to use Xmas as an opportunity to help them.

....a bottle of Vagisil Extra Strong and a can of Sure For Men.

But, it was okay cos I wrapped them up and donated them to the This Morning "Pass The Parcel" appeal. So some
dear little child had a happy Christmas anyway.

My daughter is 9. She's a little on the brand name stuff and that is expensive. Do you have a better idea on what she should get for Christmas?

We are really not the kind of people who make plans and do all those fun little things. I wish we were. I wish we did something else than wake up and open presents and watch TV. Its so ridiculous! Who watches the news on Christmas Day? My Mom always has to find something to tick someone off than she scrunches her face and doesn't talk then all my Dad does is watch tv and then my Mom gets mad at him for not even saying or doing anything except for watching stupid tv. You can watch the news during the week but Christmas is not the time! Really I wish we can do a traditional celebration where we all get into the spirit without someone getting ticked (Usually my Mom's fault) then I have to tell her "Come on Mom please don't do this your ruining everything" in a nice way. Also we have a business and my Parents are saying we can't close the store on Christmas eve so we have to stinkin work.
How can I make or do something that will put them in the mood? I can't drive I don't have allot of

I need to get my husband some gifts for Christmas. He's pretty frugal. We just bought a house (not our first house, but a definite upgrade) so I was trying to think of some creative ideas for things to buy him....maybe some things to help with the house. He's been stressed with moving and trying to sell the old house. What are some ideas? Also, I don't have tons of money ($150 - $200 is probably my limit) so creative ideas would be appreciated. Thanks so much!! Oh, and he's not technologically advanced. THANKS!!!!!
