Ok, So we were trying to figure out what to get my MIL for Christmas, and my hubby said that we needed to get her a 30pk of Coor's Light. Seriously, I told him that there was no way we could do this & that his mom would be insalted. Problem is, everything we give her for the home, she complains about because she says it for her house, not for HER. Any clothes we buy her she throws out or gives away. I've gotten her bath/spa set...collecting dust after years..Jewelry...yeah right, its never good enough for her. A gift card is out of the question because we are only spending $25 on each family member (35 in all, brothers/sisters/neices&nephews/parents)
She LOVES to party & drink..Not an occassion that goes by where she is not plastered. Would this be okay to give her, or would it be offensive. I'm out of ideas on what to get her. Suggestions & opinions please.

Go for it. And remind her that she always says you never get her anything for HER. Tell her not to share with a big ol' smile on your face. If she's into beer...this would be the perfect gift. When my boss at work got promoted, we bought him a 6-pack and he loved it. Got a big kick out of it.

My husband would love a case of good beer for Christmas. Not Coors Light, but if that's what she drinks . . .
I think beer drinkers would be glad to get beer. People give bottles of wine as gifts all the time. It'a a good idea.

You could give her a few margarita glasses, some margarita mix, salt, and some cute drink mixing books...
I don't know about the beer idea, but if you make a sort of themed gift out of it with the glasses and such, it becomes a cute gift she can use... if she likes margaritas, it will get used. =]
My Aunt did this for my Mom one year, total gift caust about $20-$25...

I would be offended because I don't drink however it sounds like she does so why not. I think if the shoe fits go for it. There are a lot of fun things you could do with it like a can cooler thing, a cooler, maybe an ice thing for a cooler, etc. Make it a little beer gift basket. I think it would be fine!!!

To me this can get very tricky giving some one alchol for christmas probably isnt the best she may think that you are assuming she is an alcoholic how about a gift certificate for her nails to get done or maybe come right out and ask her what would really make you happy to recive this christmas since you have tried many gifts and we dont see them or you aren't wearing them etc. maybe if you just ask it could make everyone less stressed in wondering what gift is she going to get rid of this year

Christmas is such a special time. For a magical occasion like this, Coors Light is out of the question.
Sam Adams is much more appropriate.

Phahah. I'd Laugh If I Got Beer. But honestly if that's what she usually does is drink beer then get her it. Is it her favorite beer? It would be offensive because if everyone was the I think it would be embaressing but it'd be okay to give it too her if thats what she wants.

If that is what she wants and would appreciate then do it! A friend of mine bought me a case of Pepsi last year because I drink 2 a day & I loved it! Saved me from going to the machine at work for a while.

To me, this would not be an insult. Just make sure that you give her something that she likes. For example, don't give her beer if she likes only wine. And if you do give her beer, make sure it is the right brand. And it does not have be a huge amount because it is cheap. One or two six-packs would not be an insult.
