We had such a good Christmas that I'd love to do it all again in April. We have a 3 year old son . How can I make this work so that our son's mind is unharmed by this wonderful but way too early replay.

Me and a couple of mates were out on Saturday "celebrating" St Patricks day which I do every year when it suddenly dawned on me that I did not have a clue what I was celebrating!

Why the interest? Do the Irish participate in St Davids day celebrations? Not that we, the english, have any real offical celebrations for St David anyway - we rather take part in St Patricks day. Is there a historical reason?

It originates from Zoroaster who was the Persian- Iranian- prophet. Iranians celebrate the first day of spring as a sign of a New Year. Happy Nurouz to all. By the way, they color eggs as part of their celebration. It is a wonderful time of the year. Arabs have tried to destroy the Persian culture- along with Greeks...- but Iranians have kept it alive and going... .

My daughter is turning 6 this year, however her birthday is the Saturday of Easter weekend. My wife and I are hesistant to schedule her at that time due to the conflict with the holiday. Are we making too much out of this? Or is it better to schedule for another weekend? Keep in mind, explaining to a 6 year old why people can't come to your birthday party won't be easy for her to understand. Thanks!

When is new year really? Most of us celebrate New year on Jan 1st becuase this is the first day of the new callender... but why then? In relation to life and the life cycle January is a very random time of year to celebrate the new year is it not as it is bang in the middle of winter? .... so, i propose that new year is instead celebrated on the 21st of March... this being the official beginning of spring (which is all to do with begining, birth, re-birth, new starts etc...) and this also means that SEPTember is back as month number seven, OCTober is officially back in its place as 8th month, NOVember in nineth and DECember in 10th...

I just wondered who agrees with me and if anyone would care to propose a different date for unofficial "New Years" celebration.... in all honesty its just another excuse to go out and get drunk anyways! ^_^
