Buy pretty picture frames for all your friends. Then at the party, have someone take a picture of all of you together. Either with a digital camera, and have your mom or someone make copies or go to the drugstore and get enough copies to give to all your friends. Or use a Polaroid camera if your parents still have one. Then put the pictures in the frame and they have a keepsake to take home and a good memory to keep.
You can also have "dress up" time. I know you're 14, but it's still fun to dress up! I like to dress up and I'm an adult! At my daughter's 14 th birthday party, we did this and the girls loved it! We had feather boas, hats, grass skirt, coconut bras, 50's skirts with jackets, make up, wigs, etc. and had a blast! You can take the picture while everyone is in costume!
She also made up a party bag with nail polish, etc. for the girls to take home.
You could make sugar cookies and let the girls decorate them with icing and sprinkles. You could have a "build your own" taco bar, also. How about a scary or funny movie? Pop popcorn and gather round the tv.
How about a dance contest? or play charades?
I hope these ideas help.

Successful parties are formed by two equal parts of planning and the ability to adapt to change, I'd say set up some structure but don't make it seem as if your guest are forced to whatever it is you have planned, always give choices and be up for new ideas.

As far as themes go, I'm not really sure, I suppose you could make themes like "movie night, book night" things such as that, but don't try to do like a high school prom and give like "Egyption night" and such like that.

i usually don't like decorations, it's not my style, i don't know about yours but if i could ever redo my 14th bday party again, i would keep the house clean, clean everything up. well planning things out before you start it is always best, well i like pizza or chinese food so i would order pizza from pizza hut, most preferably pepperoni stuffed crust. i'd have a big pack of cola and some ice and cups. then i'd rent like 2 movies or so. have some music and a stereo system. i don't know, really, if you don't want to have it insid eyour house, you could always go out to a restaraunt eat, go to the mall and **** idk, but i'd rather have it in my house 'cuz the mall is always ending up spending money, and i'm sure your homegirls who go to your party ain't gona be happy at the mall 'cuz they wont have much money like you since it's your bday. well yeah, idk, wish i could help, i never really had a real bday party.
