My dad is a retired physician. His new full time job is playing poker (not literally). I'll be "home for Christmas" so I was thinking of buying a poker set - the other part of the present would be that I would let him teach me how to play! What do you think? He usually goes to the casinos etc. and raves about how the game is so challenging etc. and really makes you think... and I tend to be VERY conservative, not drinking (unless it's red wine, for the health benefits), being against gambling etc... What do you think?

I personally love Cristmas but I know some people who don't like it very much- in fact, a lot of them DESPISE it. I just love everything about about it- the decorations, the mood, the food! yum! I also love being around my family that I hardly ever see. Its just a great time of the year for me.
So how about you? Do you like/ love Cristmas or is it not so wonderful to you?
And if you don't celebrate Cristmas, what do you like about the holiday that you DO celebrate this time of year?
Merry Cristmas everyone! :-)
Felicia

I dream of horse-driven sleighs, snow everywhere, and temperatures that make your bones ache! A WHITE CHRISTMAS! Even if it's only for a vacation.

I hear that it's like that in Europe, in the Scandinavian countries, during this time of year. People actually carry torches while travelling in the horse-driven sleighs, since it's sooo dark.

We've been dating about 1 year and 8 months... I've already done things in the past like cologne, picture frames with many pictures of us, a wallet.. Hes a hunter and fisherman but he is pretty hard to buy for because he said he doesn't need or want anything, but obviously I'm going to get him something. Any ideas would be amazing. :) Thanks.

My hubby and I have decided not to play Santa Clause for our two boys (6 & 2). We believe there's more to Christmas that we want our children to learn about. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and also about spending this special time with family. I don't see the point in "lying" about something to try and make Christmas more exciting for them - I mean isn't that the reason why we do it? Are we all not completely shattered when we find out it's all been a big "fib"? I just can't see a good reason why we should play Santa Clause. They still gets presents! My Dad in particular thinks we are mean for not playing Santa Clause. What do you ppl think?
