If you like him as a boss, tell him (or her) what you like about his style of supervision or his way of doing work. If you like your job, say, "It's a pleasure to work here!" Don't gush too much or it will come off as flattery. Otherwise, just wish him and his family a Happy Holiday and a Happy 2007.
