Do you think they take too long to turn back to normal glasses, staying dark for too long? Does anyone have any personal experience of this? I am concerned that my gran (in her 80s) may find them too dark when she goes back inside and may risk falling over. Please respond ASAP. Thank you.

For all my friends on seniors: Please check out this place on your PC. I was doing some research last night (due to some reading) and stumbled onto this. In a earlier question I used it as a comparision to seniors living in a nursing home: forgotten, hardly looked after, their histories buried, and no ideas what to do about them in the long run.
This place and its problem(s) is still going on today, any suggestions?

Last weekend I tried to get more input on this section. It didn't last long cos you've all disappeared again, please come back and talk to us.
To start the ball rolling once again. I've thought of a question.
How do use vinegar other than sprinkling on your chips?
My favourites are.
small amount added to marinade to tenderise meat.
Non smear window and glass cleaner
Add a cup to kettle, boil and leave to stand over night, rinse well, and all the rock deposits are gone. I do that once a week.

I just heard Stevie Wonder sing I just called to say I love you.
If you called me what would you have to say?
If I called you it would be to ask for a hand with the dishes, cos the sooner I finish them the sooner I can get back for your answers!

When does a person turn "Middle Aged" and when do they turn "Elderly"? I heard a T.V. news caster call a 58 year old woman elderly. So now I am wondering. I'm 63 and I don't feel Middle aged or elderly! Until I look in the mirror, I still feel like I'm 30!

I plan on buying 10,000 crickets and letting them loose in the school hallways. Only 1,000 students go to my school, so I think 10,000 will get the job done.

I am getting that impression by reading many of the questions and answers in this section. I find we have an expectation that they should treat us well and generally not be disrespectful. Are we bogging them down ( specially our offsprings and grandchildren) by the weight of our expectations?

Today I had two violation mails, for what reason I don't know but thought that if you would allow me to say goodnight to you all, I could I check if I've been removed again in the morning.
Thank you very much. Could you let me know if I'm not here in the morning cos it's very late and I might over sleep being of senior years! lol

I'm 37 years old, not a senior citizen yet, but it disturbs me to see the trend of the younger generations disrespecting their elders the way they do. My own son does it once in a while, he got on here not too long ago and posted a nasty question to the seniors group. I went through later and apologized to everyone who answered (of those who allowed email). All of my grandparents died before I was born, except for my paternal grandmother, and she was an alcoholic.Anyway, I wish I had had grandparents to sit at their feet and listen to their stories about the "good ole days" and share their wisdom with me. So many young people take our elderly for granted, not realizing that if they'd just open their minds we could learn a lot from each other. Do you know in China the elderly in society are held in high respect and honored and cherished? Nursing homes are unheard of there because families take care of their own. If only we were more like the Chinese.

The other day I was getting in the express lane at the grocery store behind an older woman who had probably 30 items (limit for the express checkout lane is 15). She knew this and even made a comment like "I'm just over the limit" and then laughed. After the long delay of checking all her items she goes through her purse and takes out a checkbook and slowly writes the check. Long story short I timed her and it took her seven minutes to get through the express checkout. It took me 32 seconds. Also while she was holding up the line, four more people had gotten in line behind us. What can be done about the old people? Perhaps a separate line for them? Also, whats with the checkbooks in this day and age?

This is for older people entirely: do you agree that, when a younger person is disrespectful or an out-and-out jerk in a post here, we should not respond at all? Leave 'em waiting, let 'em rot. All such human bottom feeders want is to get a rise out of us.

I'm something of a mess. I'm 71, but more of a nuisance is that I tote around a battery of "disabilities." I'll spare you to the details. Still and all, some mornings I forget all that and start out the day as if I were 18 again. My acting career began at 17, upon the New York stage, and I'm still a working professional actor. Sometimes there are unhappy consquences, yeah, but sometimes, too, I actually feel young, or younger. Full of energy and verve and nerve and ideas! Ah, it's swell. How about you?
