Or would you have the pet put to sleep if you could not afford the medication (which has vomiting as a common side effect). Mind you, the medication does not cure but stabilizes a condition. An example: A 14 year old cat.

you have a hard time hearing? It seems today when you just want to have lunch, there is always so much background noise in the restaurants. I tried eating outdoors, but a speaker is placed out there as well. If we are in a group, I can only hear those to the right of me (hearing in left not so good). This is with the use of a hearing aid which picks up every sound but what you want to hear. How do you cope?

My elderly neighbors would likely buy the groceries but I would bake, or prepare, package and deliver for them to freeze and reheat. How would I charge as there is only Government programs in town but nothing comparable. Besides, those program used subsidies and the meals are high in calories and starches. No special diets would be involved yet that is not a problem if they purchase the groceries themselves. Any one else direct me to other comparable organizations? I am in Iowa and will be checking Dept. of Ag. regs. as well.

It has been observed that more and more people benefitting from the advances in Medical Science tend to live longer. This is true in the EU, in the Americas, in Japan, and in other countries - including the Philippines. In Metro Manila, many Elderly Senior Citizens (Filipinos & Foreigners) could be left alone in their respective homes while everybody else in the household are out busy earning a living. The few Gov't-owned Homes-for-the-Elderly are presently cramped with overflowing Resident-Elderlies who are considered either "destitute" &/or "abandoned". The old Privately-owned Homes-for-the-Elderly are hardly available in Metro Manila. Some new (but few) privately-owned projects designed as "Retirement Havens" are all located outside of Metro Manila.

I envision setting up a chain of neighborhood-based Homes-for-the-Elderly (with each home accomodating about 10 resident-elderlies) strategically spread around Metro Manila near to Hospitals, to Churches, to Malls, to Greeneries.

Have you done anything that made you laugh this week. Don't know if you will find this one amusing but I did!
There is always a vase of flowers on my work top next to the sink and while I was washing dishes I knocked it over. So there was a litre of water gradually creeping everywhere, I grabbed the nearest thing to hand and tried to catch it, but it still continued to make a puddle on the floor. Maybe it would have been better if I'd have chosen something other than a colander full of holes !!lmao
I promise you I really did that! I'm waiting to see how I can beat that one!

I'm sorry to say but Senior Citizens should not be allowed to drive. I do not think they have the reflex and mental capacity to handle it. Im constantly seeing accidents in the news involving persons over the age of 65.

I was sitting in my car once and my grandfather came and parked behind me and just bumped into my car, he got out and didn't even know he did it.haha. This is so common.

But foreal, there is an age minimum for teens, there should be an age maximum. Dont you think?

This was asked earlier on another forum. Not an original question apparently, but true?
Friends told me how grandkids changed them. Now that I'm a gramma, I believe it. What is it about being a grandparent that makes it ok to get older?

neighborhoods? There was one neighborhood with cute cape cods and someone purchased a house, torn it down, and built a bigger one than all the ones in the neighborhood. It looked so out of place and changed the character of the hood. Not only that it blocked the sun of some of the other homes. Is this happening in your neck of the woods? Do you think this is fair?

I love parades. I been to the Easter parade in NY, and the 4th of July, Inauguration, and Cherry Blossom parades in Wash. DC. One day I hope to do the Thanksgiving Day Macy's parade in NYC, and Shriners in PA.

Because of the way society is, do you think it looks bad for a mature woman to marry a younger guy? We are sort of use to the younger woman and older guy.
