neighborhoods? There was one neighborhood with cute cape cods and someone purchased a house, torn it down, and built a bigger one than all the ones in the neighborhood. It looked so out of place and changed the character of the hood. Not only that it blocked the sun of some of the other homes. Is this happening in your neck of the woods? Do you think this is fair?

Yes, unfortunately it is happening around here... and I live in a fairly rural area. However there are many homes going up for sale now and I think there may be a trend toward building smaller, more efficient places to accommodate the change in the real estate market...at least I hope so.

I have a real good example of that trend!!!

I live in Miami...and I drive every day on Killian Drive to work in the Baptist Hospital.

some time back when O.J. Simpson bought his house in our neighborhood we all just where kinda curious...some got really angry...then....the houses right and left from his property where sold, bought again and again....the old homes then where torn down and some of the most beautiful Manson build on those sites. Now, O.J. Simpson's house look like a real dump, run down, with old clunkers in the front yard...except for his escalate with a handicap place-card dangling from his review mirror! Naturally our homes went up in value too!

ps. yes, and he does shop at Publix..

Stories like this make me happy that I live in the mountain, backed up against a National Forest. I don't get it. Kinda makes ya wonder what he's overcompensating for.

They can't build anything the township or community board does not allow & someone voted on it. Look into it & volunteer your time to make some changes.

It pays to get involved in your community.
