I had some that I had been using for almost 10 years! Like parsely or oregano. So I threw out most of them and replaced. How long do you keep spices? There is no exp. date to go by?

Even if you buy it going by the expiration date? I am a big milk drinker so it does not stay around too long in the fridge.

Mine were the Tigers. We are the tigers the mighty mighty tigers, everywhere we go, people want to know, who we are, so we tell them, (repeat)

Ever wonder why you never forget things like this?

I used "groovy" in the 60s, "far out" in the 70s, and used "totally" a lot in the 80s. Presently, I keep saying "cool" (which has been around the block several times now).

My son says "Lovely" or "Sweet."

I like the end of the movie when Gloria Swanson is ready for her close up. I imitated this scene in one of our home video movies. It was a hoot!!

Family is still of the utmost importance. But an ultra clean house is not. What age the grandbaby gets potty trained is irrelevant and I regret being so demanding of that childs parent. After all not many 30 something still wet pants. A home is not the structure you live in but the people and love that enter it. It's not how many fish you get it's the fun of fishing. So what if my son hates spelling--he has spell check.

Last evening I checked into some questions and I know that I could never survive being a teen ager in this society. No wonder they are committing suicide at an alarming rate. My question is does everyone know how much pressure the teens are experiencing with the gay issue?

My Mother is going thru one, she's in her late 30's, naturally young looking and all but wears leopard print shirts at times, listens to rock, likes to take belly dance lessons, acts like a child and is free-spirited.
What if she's like this for 10 years?
I think she was always like that.
And younger men are almost always attracted to her.
would it be silly if she was like this 15 -20 yrs. from now?
DID you ever go thru some midlife crisis or midlife transition?
How did you get over it?
thank you!!

Why would anyone do that, you might ask. It used to be an old holloween prank in the older days. I know of some young fellows (at the time) that used to do that sort of thing. Fershame - ya, sure.

We recently discussed Leona Helmsley's $12 million bequest for the care of her dog, "Trouble."

Most people believe that this amount of money for one small dog is excessive.

Animal protection groups are calling for Michael Vick to pay $10 million for the care and rehabilitation of the 53 dogs that were rescued from the dogfighting compound at his Virginia home.

Do you agree or disagree that this is excessive?

Sometimes I watch cartoons and marvel at some of the subtleties and innuendo. It would take a pretty bright child to catch some of those meanings.

And they were violent. Poor Wile E. Coyote got flattened so many times, yet he popped right back up, ready for another rock to fall on him.

I think if children nowadays were to see some of those old cartoons we all loved so dearly, they'd have nightmares.

(They've been brought up in a sanitized world that has no bearing on reality.)

The Civil Rights Movement? I can remember following it so avidly, being horrified at the church bombings, the march to Selma and the two people killed. Martin Luther King Jr. assassinated. It seemed so remote and far away from Canada.

We lived through some really MAJOR history

I'd dearly love to live in the mountains, but it isn't going to happen. My husband grew up in a small town (suburb of Lancaster, Pa.), and is a converted city fellow. He wants to be within a half-hour of all amenities -- groceries, gasoline, shopping, bowling, movies and performance venues.

No country bumpkin he.

Gosh, I'd love to hear the breeze soughing in the trees, the brook babbling over the rocks and the rocker creaking back and forth, back and forth.

(Neither of us is a beach person, thank goodness.)
