Last evening I checked into some questions and I know that I could never survive being a teen ager in this society. No wonder they are committing suicide at an alarming rate. My question is does everyone know how much pressure the teens are experiencing with the gay issue?

It is no accident that gay teens suicide rate is alarmingly high..so very sad. Sadder for the parents, for I have no idea who they can blame but theirselves! Teens and preteens today haven't a clue! WE all experienced feelings towards same sex when we were growing up, and these lost kids have no idea that it is a passing phase..they are so anxious to apply lables to themselves, so early in life. When, (rarely now, the section is nothing but a minefield of evil trolls) I am saddened by the confusion, the terror is see in so many younger men and women. Society has chosen to cast aside so many of our people with ridiculous notions handed down, generation after generation...hate is alive and well here in the 21st century...I see this growing obsession with both sexuality AND race! Discrimination is alive and growing daily...such a waste of energy and resources. I am afraid we are headed for a civil war in time, and make no mistake about it, when civil war comes from within your ranks, you have no idea who the enemy is! Christians vs. Christians, Christians vs Muslims, Whites vs. Blacks, Blacks vs Latinos, Latinos vs Whites, Gays vs Straights....you name it, the insane hate is growing daily...and it is a sickness that is destroying Amerca as we have known it. I am not going to say more (do I hear an applause?)...but the next time you see a youngster in trouble, take time to help. The next time you hear a racist joke, a homosexual joke, a ......joke, STOP the thing in its tracks! You will be amazed at how the "bullies" fold when called! Only you and I can stop this insidious destruction of other souls. Begin today..call it a minor, personal campaign if you like, but it is a campaign we can all fight. Here is truly one of those rare instances where ONE voice CAN make a big difference! Love and peace, Goldwing

Yes, and you don't want to go gay bashing, but I have to admit, that the Gay society is really trying to ram us all. These young people are getting so confused, and it is a worry.

Being in the dancing world, until I stopped when my eldest was ready for school (in dancing world I could be with them, the children, in the day, and taught dancing and produced etc.). I had a lot of interaction with gay people and a lot of them were my friends. Still know some of them today. But I am glad now that I stopped, and went into the business world.

A few have committed suicide. Some have spent time in Mental Institutions, They go through terrible depression in later life, although some of them do get through.

I think they, the teens, are experiencing too much pressure. And I am afraid to say, and don't mind getting stoned for it, the media and Hollywood, push it out there too much as well. No wonder the younger generation are confused.

Most teenagers are out having fun with their friends, comfortable in their heterosexuality. It's the ones worrying about stuff--including their sexuality--who are posting questions on this site. Nobody is pressuring teens to be gay, but we as a society are allowing them to think about their sexuality, and to weigh the pros and cons of allowing themselves to be truthful about being gay or bisexual. They are reaching out INSTEAD of committing suicide. It may be hard for some to get used to, but based on my own experience as a deeply-closeted teenager and young adult, it really is a good thing.

Being born gay is not an easy lifestyle. I have several friends who are gay and they talk about how difficult things were when they were in school. They get picked on and the bullying can be relentless. It's a small wonder that gay people (especially teens) have a very high incidence of suicide.
Since we're all humans, we have to treat everyone with respect and kindness. People don't choose to be gay, they're born that way and there's nothing wrong with it. It just happens to be different than the majority of people.

I don't know about pressure? But evidently they are quite aware of it, and evidently they talk about it alot in school, and
the ornery ones use it as a tease. My granddaugher is 13, grandson 11, They use the term, "girly boy" alot And last year
two boys spread a false rumor that my grand son was gay, it
truely up set him, so much his mother had to talk to the teacher about it. And he is not a complainer. But if you get out among the kids at school actitives, etc. it is like nothing to hear "girly boy" used in reference to either gender, as kids do
to get each others goat. Most of this comes from TV and what
ever else they listen to! I think John Edwards is refered to as
"girly boy." How you connect this with suicide leaves me in the dark. We live in a small area, so if it's here I'm sure it is worse in larger cities. We truely live in a small small world,
in this now era.

There is no pressure on teens to be gay. You see a lot on this site because this site is for gays to voice concerns. Instead of everybody spread out some concentrate here.

Yes, I have noticed and actually answered a couple because my son is gay. I have been a member of PFLAG for years, so I just tell them if I were their mom, I would always love them and just want them to be happy and then just hug them
It is the bible thumpers I have a problem with

Not particularly, I've noticed a lot of silly questions, I'm very proud and glad the "teenagers" know and want to come to adults for questions. I hope we give them honest straight answers.

You will probably find a lot more bi-curious females then males. Keep looking though man, libraries, places near school, the gym etc.
