There has always been this sense of pride amongst Hispanics of all nations. There pride in Spanish, Spanish culture, Catholicism, etcetera... So strong is this pride that it has created a whole sub-culture of Hispanic life.

But isn't being proud of speaking Spanish, reveling in Spanish culture, and Praising your catholic faith like saying "Hey Cortes' thanks for coming here, kicking our butts, eliminating our culture, raping our women, and reducing us to third world nations by stealing all of our gold, and erasing our history"

Spanish is the language of your conquers, Jesus, THEIR, god. Meso America once had strong and mighty cultures in the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas. And all that was lost to Spain and yet you sit and revel in your "Spanish heritage".

Please Explain....

With the recent news about Jena, La I have had racism on my mind. Until recently, I thought that the United States was over the worst part of that. I'm 21 and I just assumed that my generation has done a better job of accepting others. But, when I look on Yahoo! Answers, I see so much racism that I can hardly stand it. My question is..... Is racism still going strong in the US. Do people still feel like there are "superior" races. Are people will to change. Please answer honestly.

I resigned from Alcoholics Anonymous recently and was invited to address the local Liquor-Lovers Association.
I meant to begin : "I love my liquor!", but, being slightly sozzled, it came out : "I lick my lover!"
I'm thinking of resigning again and joining the Swinging Singles : Would that be an over-reaction?

Why do some people think the jena six dont deserve at least 8 years in prison?
no matter what happend before or after this incident. at a party or a store.. or a tree.. the fact remains THAT THESE 6 GANG MEMBERS JUMPED ON WHITE KID. It is not the white peoples fault that the police didnt think they had enough evidence to charge the white kids with an alleged assault that some black kid got while trying to attend a party he wasnt invited too. its not his fault that some guy allegedly pulled a gun on some black boys. THE FACT REMAINS THAT THIS CRIME HAPPENED AND WE HAVE A VICTIM. so are you telling me.. that if i white man in my city rapes a black woman.. and the police dont have enough evidence to charge him.. that its ok for a black boy to go and rape a white lady for revenge. because that is exactly what you people are saying when you think these kids dont deserve max time in a prison. its ok though. they ARE going to prison and when we think that they have learned their lesson and can play nice with normal people. we MIGHT let them out of their cages

I was having an on line argument with a black guy who was insisting one drop of black made you all black. Being non American I find this bizzare, as I know a quarter black girl with fair hair and green eyes (a friend's niece).

Doesn't this distort the census, making it seem like there are more black Americans than there are? Can you put down 'white' on forms if your parents are mixed? How far back does your black ancestor have to be before you are not black?

Doesn't it discriminte against the non black parent, in effect completely denying one side of the individuals ancestry. Do people claim to be black to take advantage of affirmative action?

To be fair this is just out of curiosity I want anyones and everyones opinion. I know this question seems to be pointed towards those who are not Indian but, I would like those of you who are Indian to answer this as well. Because more English people are being married into Indian families now. Before you answer you might want to look at the questions below, they might help you answer the question and inform me of what i'd like to know. Thank you.

Do you find Indian girls attractive?

Would you socialise with them?

Would you prefer to keep to your own race?

Would you be ready to welcome their culture and religion?

Would you consider a relationship with them?

Well being black means that you have skin that is called black, but I don't mean the colour of the hair that most people who are known as blacks have. They have hair that is called black and the skin is also called black but not the same black as the colour of their hair. Black peoples skin can be recognised as varying shades of brown through to the deepest brown that is almost black but when expressing the colour verbally you call it black, but not the kind of black that you see on their hair. You get me?
