Boutiques in the Philippines carry a lot of these whitening products, from soap, lotion, and even drugs promising Filipinos to become white in due time. I understand that brown skin protect people in the equator against the harsh of sunlight but why still join the whitening bandwagon? Aren't Filipinos meant to be brown, the same way that African are really meant to become black - a required complexion where you're born.

on ya i don't think people are nosy,to apoint.this is a sight where people go to get answers for their questions and possibly answer other questions hoping to be helpful.i'm talking about the real outside world, your neighbors, coworkers, heck even the people who are perfect strangers.you know why reality shows are such big hits?its because people are nosy.whats this world coming to?when i was growing up people ,to me ,were not as nosy.what ever happened to respect other peoples property and privacy?did these reality shows trigger this frenzy?will it get worse or will it go away?and i'm not talking about being more aware because of terrorists, that a different subject.

I was listening to NPR and there was a woman who was asked if she liked Obama. She said he was a very impressive speaker. and she really liked his message, and felt that there needed to be a change in Washington. But she said she wasn't sure if she was going to actually vote for him because she didn't think a Black man could be elected president.

So what she is saying is, because everybody else is racist, she has to vote along with the racist?

Is this aversive racism? or just plain racism?

I came across a post, where the child was ugly to me. A lot of people called the child very pretty and this and that (blah blah blah). Thing is, if this was a grown woman, they would have been thrashing her left and right. Why, because she is a child, people tend to play sympathy? Is there some grace period to wait before people start being honest and telling it like it is. Im not talking about telling the child directly that she is ugly, but I am just talking about a general opinion....

e when they are more represented than Asians, Native-Americans, or Middle Easterners? Have you noticed the black population and Hispanic populations is rapidly and steadily consistently increasing in the U.S. and many other places so you guys are not actually a minority anymore? The U.S. census predicts in 50 years from now, the minority will be whites and the majority hispanic. And yet you guys (not all but many) always complain about not being represented enough in the media and that's why you want to continue your magazines and channels, etc. Personally I think it's unfair that you guys get your own magazines and channels and yet you are still represented in the mainstream, why is it you get to have your cake and eat it too? I think if any ethnic groups should receive their own channels, t.v. shows, magazines, etc then it should be the Native-Americans, Asians, and Middle Easterners bc they are not well represented or included in mainstream pop culture and media, but why dont they

Okay I know the typical meaning is a black person who acts white but I am a person who has been called a Oreo for 6 years now and I really don't understand why. I listen to old school, rock, world, techno etc. I have a very diverse group of friends. I am told I speak like a white person and I can't dance. Does that make me a Oreo? I have been called that by alot of people (with a few nasty remarks) at school since I moved their when I was 12 and even a few family members basically call me an Oreo. I know I am weird but I don't think I act white or black... I just act like myself. How exactly does one become a Oreo?

I often wonder there's a lot in common between both peoples in terms of behaviour and communication style. Both seem to be "empathetic" while talking to others. Anybody else feels same way.
