I came across a post, where the child was ugly to me. A lot of people called the child very pretty and this and that (blah blah blah). Thing is, if this was a grown woman, they would have been thrashing her left and right. Why, because she is a child, people tend to play sympathy? Is there some grace period to wait before people start being honest and telling it like it is. Im not talking about telling the child directly that she is ugly, but I am just talking about a general opinion....

having an opinion that the child is ugly I see nothing wrong with that. Telling the child they are ugly to their face is pretty much child abuse. When they get older their peers will call them out and they'll figure it out in their own way. Hope they are smart or ambitious

Geez...I am tired but I still have to post to this one. I think it is wrong to call anyone anything that is not a clear fact. You should also go by the old school saying, if you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all. You cannot say for a fact that someone is ugly because that is a matter of opinion and there is no scale or definate description that defines ugly. What is ugly to one is beautiful to another. I am not one to go overboard and go on and on either way. If I personally in my opinion do not think a person is pretty, beautiful in my eyes, or handsome or whatever, I do not say anything at all. I will give one compliment and leave it at that. That is why so many adults have self esteem issues today is because of people who treat their opinions as facts and state them. Also, that is where the kids in school who make fun of other kids get their actions and attitudes. It is caused by parents who do not teach their children the value of a person outside of physical beauty and vanity. They also hear their parents give outward shallow opinions which are negative about other people and then mimic them. When I hear of a child teasing another, I actually do not blame that child, I blame the parents. Because of their ignorance, their child is living in ignorance and arrogance and will grow up to be the same.

i in my opinion wrote an editorial precisely approximately this. look at the link for my finished opinion. maximum people who communicate different persons down tend to be stressful on themselves besides. there is not something incorrect with being stressful and pushing your self to attain the main yet to be unreasonable with your self isn't a thank you to attain aims. while someone judges yet another person as being extraordinary or gruesome or diverse that's while you evaluate that person feels everyone needs to act a undeniable way continually. something deviating from the "norm" for people who prejudge is problematical for them. however the humorous element is that everyone isn't like the "norm", there truly a minimum of one element with everyone that makes them "diverse", so the those that anticipate you to be desirable continually, or cool, or smart, or gown a undeniable way, are those that don't truly understand themselves and could ultimately have a stressful lesson to examine at some point. so which you would be able to discover how treating different persons properly treats your self. everyone has something to grant to the international, everyone. supply human beings the prospect to tutor you what makes them specific, and study to settle for the failings that everyone seems to be working to strengthen. and additionally you will discover which you will start to understand and settle for your self besides.

Because it is rude, for one thing.

And beauty is subjective for another.

And an "ugly" child might grow up to be the next top super model, but who would have wounds inside because some ignorant person (that would be you) called her ugly when she was little.

It's mean.

It's unnecessary.

Haven't you ever heard the saying "if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all?"

Who are you to decide what is pretty and what is ugly?

I understand what you are saying, but you forget-
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe they have different taste than you, you are not the benchmark for judging beauty. None of us are.

The same reason you don't tell people they are stupid, I have never told an adult they are ugly or stupid either.
Besides children change so often they might not be next year.
