Some people are just so sad and ignorant these days. All i would do is get back to them and tell them that you know how you look like and that you don't need anymore feedback.

I understand your feeling; I received a similar comment about my weight gain, when the speaker had no idea that I had an illness at the time. Ignorance runs amuck!
However, it is appropriate for someone to mention the subject if they are *truly* concerned for my health and longevity. Carrying extra weight significantly increases health risks for numerous disorders, conditions, and diseases. It can seriously impair quality of life. It can cut short a person's life. People who truly love and enjoy you sincerely want to keep you around, so understand that their concerns are not criticism. They just don't know how to help.

It is the overwhelming need to feel better than someone else. I'm not old but I have never seen a generation that is so determined to devour one another. What they don't seem to understand is that there will always be someone thinner, prettier, smarter, funnier, sweeter. People just need to value each other as fellow human beings and stop trying to be BETTER than each other and just simply VALUE each other.

We live in a time dominated by perfection. Many people are obsessed with looks and it gives them great pleasure to demean someone else. It's pretty stupid, if you ask me because looks aren't everything. If someone says that to you, you should just ignore him/her. That person does not deserve your time.

Some people are just stupid, unkind, intrusive, mean, idiotic, harmful...............I could go on all day. It is absolutely necessary that you ignore them with every fiber of your being. You are the captain of your own ship.

Someone said this to you? There's no good reason for that. They're just trying to hurt your feelings. Tell them to f off.

Ever see the bumpersticker that says...
"I may be fat, but you're ugly. And I can LOSE weight."
That one says it all.
Cheers.
