on ya i don't think people are nosy,to apoint.this is a sight where people go to get answers for their questions and possibly answer other questions hoping to be helpful.i'm talking about the real outside world, your neighbors, coworkers, heck even the people who are perfect strangers.you know why reality shows are such big hits?its because people are nosy.whats this world coming to?when i was growing up people ,to me ,were not as nosy.what ever happened to respect other peoples property and privacy?did these reality shows trigger this frenzy?will it get worse or will it go away?and i'm not talking about being more aware because of terrorists, that a different subject.

Yes, people are more "nosy" today than a couple decades ago.
Used to be "live and let live". Now it is think like I do, or else I will tell.
My belief is that the war on drugs has created a nation that believes they have a right to not only know what occurs behind closed doors, but regulate it. Slippery slope we are on.

I don't know if nosey would be the right word. It's more like people feel that they have a right to know your entire life story and need to know your entire life story before they can befriend you, start a relationship with you, etc. This is fueled more by advances in technology and the compilation of personal information than reality shows or anything else.
In times past, people had more cajones and were more willing to take the person as they were today rather than judging them by what they had been in the past. Now, everyone is afraid of everything and thinks that they need to be "protected."

I think most people are nosey. I also reckon the print media (ie newspapers magazines etc) made it socially acceptable to be nosey.
I think most of us are nosey by nature, but yeah I do agree the reality shows have made it worse, and people don't know where to draw the line anymore between genuine interest in another person and nosiness.

I can only speak for myself. I confess I am extremely nosy. Why? I always have been because I have a really short attention span and get bored. I'm also quiet by nature so I listen to what's going on around me. Also I'm a terrible gossip. I'm really trying to work on that....and yes, I think that's why I like reality shows.

We live in a world of change where people have become more enlightened and aware. Some people are are nosy, but I would not agree that most are.

It's human nature. You want to know what other people are like so you can compare yourself to them and work out who's better than you and who's not so you can "keep up with the jones' " You want to know what's happening with everyone so you can continually give yourself reassurance that hey you're doing pretty well in life. Make yourself feel like Number 1. It's just human nature.

Haha. Reality shows are SOOOOO staged is not even funny. I like to eves drop on my parents argument, cuz if i dont, then when we are all kicked out for a while, im like.. wtf? lol. But im not nosey enough to want to know about everyones sex life, and whos dating who, and why she did what to him. IDC about that ****. But anyways.
In my point of view, people are EXTREMELY nosey, my ******* step sister pokes around in my bedroom and takes my ****! RIDICULOUSE!!! But yes. In my opinion, or in my point of view, i cant think of one erson tats not nosey. bbut, noseyness is in a fashinon where people are not SO nosety that they video tape you in the Bathroom (this is an idiom).
I wonder what it was like to have privacy like you may have had it growing up.?

I don't know where you grew up. Where I grew up, people were always nosy. I think part of it is because they don't have a life of their own & part is because they're insecure & hope to find a defect in you that will make them feel better about themselves.
