I haven't been in yahoo answers long. But I think it doesn't matter.Because if you don't like the question-you can always answer with your opinion. Which without being nasty, you can still have your say if you think they are being racist or unfair.
It is fair and everyone gets to ask questions or give answers. And some questions are by people who really need some advise.
Plus we all have a different opinion on what is a good question and what isn't. Same with the answers, some people give really mean answers. To some people their question might be really serious, yet seem quite funny, but it's not to them.

I so agree. The only way Q's and A's like that get on here is 'cos moderators miss them. I suggest reporting them might reduce their being put on in the first place. Racism and viciousness must be combated wherever it is found. If those people don't like being dealt with firmly then they should learn decent behaviour.

You used to be able to do that!
For some reason, Yahoo removed the option, and I'm sure that is what led to a rise in reports of abuse, and all the hoo-har about invalid violations et al!
I think that, deprived of the option to thumbs down a question, people just hit the report abuse button instead.
I think it should be restored!

Yes, that's how the system was before they came up with the star idea; I still prefer the old way

Nope. I don't see the point. I don't see the point in allowing people to thumbs up/down answers either. What purpose does it serve? Nada.
Answer or don't answer.
Report or don't report.
End of story.

I agree. I get so annoyed with some of the questions and when I give an honest answer to a racist question I end up with a violation. I think your idea would work well

we used to be able give thumbs up and thumbs down for questions, but since it changed we can only give stars.i liked it the old way,but hey yahoo must get bored that often that they try new things, and realise that some people dont like it,and put it right again, but i think they missed that one out.

You can report it. I think the thumbs are stupid anyways, people give thumbs down just because they didn't agree with what the person was saying. Who cares?
ps. I know I'm gonna get a thumbs down for this.

I do wish they hadn't removed the thumbs-up and thumbs-down from questions. That was about the only way you could express your opinion of the question without an actual abuse complaint.
