I personally think "black" is defined by ones culture. Some people are so uneducated that they make statements like: You are acting black, or acting white.
How do you act a color? I think some people associate "being black" as in the way someone might talk "ebonics", the clothes they wear and the kind of music they listen too.
For the people that do that they would assume I was "black", I have mixed kids, date men of color, and I listen to rap music, as well as dance to hip hop, eat soul food, and can get my "ghetto card" in a minute with slang talk if you make me mad.
Every race I think should just be defined by their culture not what they look like or what they eat or the kind of music they listen too. After all when its time to meet our maker wont we all just be one color and one love anyway!!
Thanks for listening!!

I didn't know this question was so confusing to so many. Maybe b/c I'm black & can easily point out a black person I assumed everyone else could do the same.

The confusion comes from ppl defining black ppl as only being African or African American. They do this b/c they have been brainwashed & taught that black ppl only contributed to society through slavery, & all slaves came from Africa.

What is now coming to light is that black ppl migrated all over.....that's why you have black Indians, black Native Americans, black Hispanics, black Caribbeans. They have seperated black ppl into these different sections because if they counted us as one group.....well then those numbers & the possible unity that could come from those numbers would be devasting to those currently in power.

To me, "Black" is a culture and just as with "White", "Asian", etc. There are many subcultures which make up the whole.

In general the black culture is soul-full, passionate, full of life, and a beautiful people to behold if one is intelligent enough to look beyond skin color.

To me, they are a colorful, vibrant people. Sadly, as with most cultures, the beauty is often overshadowed by the actions of a few. Knowing this, I strive to search out the content of a person's character on an individual basis, regardless of race.

When I was 14 my mom bought me a set of paints. I wanted to make a picture with a tan back ground. I took my dark brown paint and added white; but got flesh. Our skin colors are the same colors, just different shades.
Black is not a color. It is a "hue"; so is white. Grays are shades.

The black race is a human race just like every other race. The difference between blacks and most races is the complexion. Blacks have darker complexions however, I have seen Indian people who are alot darker then black people. Humans too me are beautiful it does not matter what color they are...

Black is every color. Only the frequencies of the other colors are reflected back to your eyes and that is why you see them. Black absorbs all the frequencies that lie in the visible light spectrum and none of the frequencies are reflected back to your eyes therefore you see black. Therefore, black is every color.

Well, for LOL, you can use the old southern presumption that any drop of ***** blood made you "black" and more than 1/32 ancestry made you legally "black"
Of course, when you have the NAACP supporting picketing a store owner who referred to African Americans as Colored People, you know that life is really confusing.
