the slave trade started over 500 years ago,so surely we can't be saying sorry for the way the world was half a millenium ago. of course the slave trade was inhuman, but there is far worse treatment of africans by africans today. And surely the decendants of slaves have a far better life than there country folk back in africa.It seems to me that the coloured minoritys want to be treat as equals and look to the future aswell as constantly reminding the rest of the world of there ancesters treatment. We can either move forward or stew in the past.

I'm not just talking about the United States, but France, U.K. and Canada. There was really no slavery in the U.K. and france so that can't be blamed.

Also, slavery ended over 140 years ago, and were still not succesful, compared to other groups. The Jewish people experienced the Holocaust just 60 years ago, and look where their at now, the richest ethnic group in america.

Sorry guys but i know you has lots of poor people but your wealthy includes more than the population of my humble country. No sponsor like Tata or whatever tries to do asnything about it.

How come nobody in india is complaining no cricket in the olympics? I mean, that is one area you guys can medal in other than shooting things. I suspect with one billion people there are tons of areas that india has the best person in.

Of course that means my country, so unhappy with out result (which per capita only little less than usa) will be likely worse but well, ...

I am not a racist but I want to know why people think it's okay to have all African American (colleges, fraternities, and tv stations)? So what would happen if we had all Caucasian colleges and tv stations??? If you want equality stop seperating yourself....

I'm doing a project on how hip-hop has changed from its roots of having meaning and sometimes having a message into what it is today. Example: being just about the beat, inapropriate lyrics, and bragging about what the "artist" materially owns. I personally think comercialism is to blame, what do you think?

Pussycat Dolls, Spearmint Rhino strippers, etc, they all claim to be 'empowered'. I could understand that if we lived in a totally sexually repressed state like Iran or something, but aren't women who take it off for men just perpetuating objectification and making life tougher for the rest of us?

& to add to that white kids try and copy the black kids! i mean its bizzarre.....black people have plenty oppertunity in the UK, i dont buy all this decrimination stuff, all employers want is someone respectful, who speaks decent english (without the strange cross jamaican/cockney accent everyone seems to put on these days, including white kids)

I was just wondering how individuals benefit from today's unprecedented level of social networking. Yes, it makes sense that everyone can be happier as part of the masses who have access to a much wider audience and availability of information, but if everyone's trying to one-up each other, doesn't this just generate another survival of the fittest atmosphere?

And isn't it ironic that the urbanites and yuppies who proclaim their social and cultural awareness are the ones who get involved in this new social darwinist exercise? I don't mean to mock anyone, but isn't there a whole degree of hypocrisy which is being overlooked here?

They say things like:

"Wassup my n*gg*r"
"Fo sho dog"
"Shut your grill dog"


How can blacks not expect to be dehumanized by whites when so many of them refer to eachother as dogs and n*gg**s? Not all blacks talk like this, but a significant portion of them do. Don't you think they would get more respect from white people if they learned to respect themselves first?
